Twinkle artist?

Post by suebutcher »

Does anyone know which artist drew "Patsy Panda" and "Puzzle Time" in the early Twinkle? They look like they're by the same person. I'm sure I've seen their work elsewhere in humour comics.

(Scans are from Twinkle, 8th March 1969).

------BOB DEWAR!

---definitely!

Bobbo diversified a lot between this sort of tiny tots/nursery strips and BEANO-type material---he done the 3 Bears, I think, around the early 90s. He never tried to disguise his strong storybook style, unlike a lot of other artists.

His work often looked more like book illustration than UK-styled cartoon strips, although he also done a strip for PLUG in the late 70s, entitled 'Chunky Gibbon' [or something along those lines].

Thanks, Rab. He's much more stylish than the other Twinkle artists, who seem fairly dull to me.

you are very welcome, Sue.

Bobbo also done a very good spaceship-themed kids strip for the MAGIC relaunch [late 70s?]
