Comic Creators Project at the Cartoon Museum BLOG

Post by comiccreatorsuk »

Hi! As some of you already know, the Cartoon Museum in London has received a Heritage Lottery Fund grant to purchase original British comic art. We are really delighted to be able to expand our collection, especially since most of the original art by UK artists tend to be sold overseas! As we hang some of the original pieces in the Comics Gallery we are trying to created a digital record with the history of the comics that are on display through a blog (which can be accessed with QR codes at the museum). In addition, we are trying to make the Cartoon Museum more visible in social media and we would appreciate if you could check out our pages and see if you are interested in following us. We would definitely try to do the same for you, including sharing your interesting blog posts about UK comics. These are the addresses:

We have already posted about Janus Stark, The Trigan Empire, The Steel Claw, and the Daleks. Coming up next will be Danger Mouse!!! We also hope to add live interviews with the comic creators soon! We are just very excited to be able to preserve and share with the general public the work of British comic book artists. :D

I'm very happy to follow the blog but I am not signed up to Facebook etc. and do not intend to be. Bear in mind that many tens of thousands, if not millions, of people are not, or do not wish to be, involved with social media.
This is an excellent project, especially as you can provide digital access to the collection for those who can't get to London. Keep up the good work.

We would like to assure all reluctant users of social media that we will not be posting photos of babies, pets, drunken friends or what we had for dinner last night. Coming soon: interviews with Dave Gibbons & John Higgins, David Lloyd, and a never-before revealed interview with Alan Moore from 1986.
