Re: Big news for Ken Reid fans!

Earlier today I did an exclusive interview with Irmantas about this fascinating collection and you can read it on my blog here, which is illustrated with a few extracts from the books:

Re: Yvonne Hutton

Hi Darren, Interesting art examples by Eric Bradbury and Joe Colquhoun. I think these were probably sent to Yvonne as test pieces for her to copy to see exactly where her strengths and weaknesses as an artist lay. BTW the Eric Bradbury 'Maxwell Hawke' page is from Buster dated 16th Jan 1965 and was...

More covers revealed for this year's Rebellion reprint books

I posted this link on another thread but it may have been overlooked so I'm posting it in its own topic too, as I'm sure members here will want to see these covers. I hope that's ok. Covers for five of this year's Treasury of British Comics books, including the surprising news that Alfonso Font has ...

Re: Full 2018 schedule for Treasury of British Comics

Here's the covers for five of the upcoming books from Rebellion. The Black Max one is particularly impressive as it's a new cover by Alfonso Font:

Re: Yvonne Hutton

They were stored in a loft, Lew. Yes, it is a shame, but apparently there are loads more so hopefully some of them will be in a better state. I really should get down there and have a dig through them. I will try and prioritise in over the coming weeks. Darren I'm glad they were preserved anyway. S...

Re: Yvonne Hutton

Great to see that artwork, but a shame the pages are in such a state. Had they been stored in a shed or something?

It was on sale in UK comic shops too, so copies turn up on eBay.co.uk from time to time, and at marts.

Stoke-Con-Trent 8

This Sunday, 15th April, I'll be at Stoke-Con-Trent 8 , at Staffordshire University, along with Mike Collins, Lee Sullivan, David Leach and many more guests. I'll be bringing along comics and doing sketches on request, and I'm sure the other comic guests will be doing likewise. Why not come along an...

I think this is the special. It'll just be U.S. comic size instead of the larger UK format.

Re: Daily Mirror has axed Mandy

Today's Daily Mirror has a photo from the archives in place of three of the comic strips. Mandy, the Buck Ryan reprint, and one of the Garth reprints are gone, while Andy Capp, Gag Vault, Perishers and the other Garth strip remain. I'd heard they were going to make cutbacks again. A sad state of af...

The Vigilant, - new comic from Rebellion

News from Simon Furman on Twitter: On 15th August 2018, Rebellion are releasing The Vigilant - a 48 page, all-original, all colour, U.S. sized comic, reintroducing classic super-beings, aliens, mad scientists and monsters from the old IPC/Fleetway catalogue. "The Leopard From Lime Street, Adam Etern...

Re: The Comic Archive - What's new

On the blog today, it is my annual Easter in the Comics post, and I take a look at Buster's Easter from 43 years ago. https://bjlcomicarchive.blogspot.com/ncr/2018/03/easter-in-comics-2018-edition-busters.html Nice to see that, Bruce. I'd stopped buying Buster during those years so hadn't seen it b...
