Re: Number 13 and The Germs return in the bigger 36 page Bea

The apology should be to him, no? Beano staff are on here, you know, so he will find out. Best to ask for a quote if you're going to reproduce someone's exact words, i would say. That goes for anyone too, not just editorial people or artists. It's only courtesy to keep private chat private. However,...

Re: A way to stop the bad sales

I checked back - what about Katy and Chris, then? Were they surplus when the freelancers started working for them? How many people does it take to make a comic, in that case?

Also, Craig Graham works on another magazine, it's in his email signature. It's a WWE magazine.

Re: A way to stop the bad sales

Does anybody read the small print in The Dandy? It's worth it because it usually changes with each issue. Check out the signpost on the next issue page and compare it with the first revamped issue last year - three staff down! I wonder if they're working on new projects?

Re: This weeks Dandy

I expected Rocky's Horror Show to be more funny and smiley, but it ended up as a rubbish strip about some doctor who created a terrible monster. I didnt want that. I wanted laughs and smiles. Will will be pleased when he reads that. Seriously, calling it rubbish? That's just mean and uncalled for. ...

An excuse for what?

Pretty irreverent celebrity stuff this week again. Celeb or Slob was funny, liked conundrums too.

Re: This weeks Dandy

Do the maths. Ignore the Celebrity Pages bit, the rest add up to 32. Got it now! For my part, the celebrity thing is being overplayed a little here. They poke fun at them, but not in a mean way. Do you really want a vicious celebrity comic for your kids? There's any number of adult version...

Are the celebrity pages not comic strips, then? I haven't seen this issue...

Re: This weeks Dandy

The Beano advert was Gnasher's Bite again - and with no title again. If they plan to keep running these ads, that's a problem that needs fixing. Usually advertisers create their own ads, as opposed to being created by the magazine team... so knocking the Beano's adverts should probably go in a Bean...

The Mighty Bork in The Danady had an ending quite recently.

Re: Dandy Thread - Deleted Post

As an infrequent poster who prefers to read, I once tried to offer swirlything a little advice. To me, the reason he upset people was that he a) expressed himself in a pretty unpleasant way, regardless of his intent, and b) aggressively reacted to anyone whose opinion differed from his. Forums are s...

Re: Harry Hill in Toxic AND the Dandy?

There's no comic strip inside, though - just a crap photo feature with Harry in it. No permission needed for those, so I doubt if the man himself is involved?

Re: 2012 Annuals

Beano.com seems to have no issue using masthead scans for the adverts on the retro section. And the original artwork would be larger than the comics, therefore higher resolution (in fact Dandy's current logo is hand drawn, so that's probably a scan too). I'm sure all they will have done is a bit of...

That might work here on the fanternet, but it's not the proper way to do it. Scans are nowhere near good enough for use as a professional logo. You can spot them a mile away. Swirly is probably right, just a branding decision.

Re: 2012 Annuals

Covers have been revealed for the 2012 annuals! http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61QrRIhBnRL._SS500_.jpg http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61WcFnGtdVL._SS500_.jpg Beano's looks OK. Dandy's was clearly drawn before last year's revamp - but that's no excuse for using the late 70s logo instea...
