Wish this thread was still on the go. Loved seeing other peoples doodles and drawings.
Thread not added to for nearly a year. Does that mean there's no drawing to see or has interest indeed dropped? Shame either way.

Re: Beano - new direction?

Well, to me, that's a bit like being told your terminal illness is in remission and then being run over and killed by a bus as you leave the doctor's. Troll. That analogy, in whatever context, is disgusting. I don't care who you are, or who you think you are, but being allowed a platform to spout y...

That's the definition of misquote. Thanks for the apology, tho.

Re: The Beano 75 years issue whats inside...its guessing tim

With his 6000+ posts, it needs to be acknowledged that he is a stalwart of the threads, and his harmless enthusiasm deserves our respect. Absolute poppycock. I can make 7000+ posts all saying 'jam', doesn't make me a stalwart of forums, or for jam for that matter. I was making sure I read correctly...

Re: The Beano 75 years issue whats inside...its guessing tim

It's referred to as the "last ever Dandy summer special". If it sells well enough for another one to be done next year, it would no longer be the "last ever", ergo, this year's being called that would be a fib. Simple enough, right? That's a huge 'if' Digifiend. What proof do you have that DCT are ...

Re: The Beano 75 years issue whats inside...its guessing tim

Could you explain, in detail, what you mean by this comment? And explain clearly and concisely so that there's no chance of misinterpretation. In my opinion, this request is unnecessarily confrontational. Surely a question such as Are you not confusing the weekly issue with the Summer Special, Digi...

Re: The Beano 75 years issue whats inside...its guessing tim

Wouldn't it be more pertinent to have waited until next summer before making a comment like that?

My question was straight to the point for a reason, and Digifiend knows why that would be.

Re: The Beano 75 years issue whats inside...its guessing tim

Summer specials have always been different beasts to weekly titles. I thought everyone knew that. I hope it sells well enough to make a fib out of it's title. Could you explain, in detail, what you mean by this comment? And explain clearly and concisely so that there's no chance of misinterpretation.

Re: Free four page Beano with Time Out

When I was a kid (and kids from where I'm from, still today) call the green exports from our noses 'Snatters'.

Not snot, or snotters. Or bogies, boogers.... SNATTERS.

The most ugliest, dirty word I think I've ever heard that comes from your nose.

That cover wouldn't have existed unless this Dennis one came first.

Plus, to be fair, there's nothing original in that 2000AD cover. It's a homage at best.

Re: PPA Best Cover of the Century - vote for the Beano!!

This cover was MASSIVE in the comic's history. Massive with a capital M. Brilliant foresight by Euan, brilliant design by David, captured the imagination of kids all over by recording the highest sale of the year, stood out on the shelves like no other comic (Beano were still doing strips on covers ...

Re: Minnie the Minx laugh

It's the sort of expression you would expect to hear from members of the Anthill Mob out of Wacky Races, as they observed some dubious intent. You've hit the nail on the head there. That kind of laugh from Minnie certainly tells me (and hopefully lots of other readers) that's she's planning somethi...

I refer the gentleman above to the earlier post I made, which Gilly quoted.

All those times Minnie dressed up as an old lady....? Maybe it was just so convincing after all because of her nan.
