These are wonderful! Thanks loads Phil
Tough and resourceful heroines have always been my favourite sort of characters, even as a kid - and I think it's a massive shame that girls don't have access to these sorts of stories anymore!
Salinas' work is so beautifully detailed, I love it.

Oh dear, I shall remove that first image.......I'm not sure if it's him or not, in other parts of the story it looks very like the same artist who did The Survivors but I don't know.

Sandie
Thanks to Steve, I've just acquired a copy of Sandie annual 1976. I wasn't previously familiar with this title but if the annual is a good example of what it's usually like then I've been missing out! It's right up my street - fabulous artwork, great stories and there seems to be an emphasis on hist...

A little more Perry.....I'm just adding this here for reference as it's the earliest example of his work I currently have, though I'm sure it's far from close to the start of his career. Another girls' comic artist #6 - John Woods
We've already discussed John Woods quite a bit as I posted the whole of his story "The Survivors" in the Girls Comics forum, but I thought I'd start a thread so I can gather together more examples of his work :D This is from "Wendy's Wishing Well" from the 1975 Bunty annual: http://farm5.static.flic...
