Re: What comics did you buy today?
I have hundreds of Busters from the 60s and 70s. Buried in my storage unit but happy to pass them on for a very reasonable price. I'll try to unearth them soon. (Most are near mint as bought when published and looked after).

Re: WHO ARE YOUR TOP 5 BANDS/MUSICIANS?
Favourite album by each group: The Beatles - Revolver The Doors - Strange Days The Who - Quadrophenia Pink Floyd - The Piper at the Gates of Dawn Tyrannosaurus Rex/T. Rex - Beard of Stars I was a mod around late 70s early 80s. Went to the March of the Mods gig at the Lyceum in 1979 featuring Secret ...

Re: WHO ARE YOUR TOP 5 BANDS/MUSICIANS?
Although I said the Beach Boys are the second greatest band after the Beatles they wouldn't be in my own top five favourites. Based on repeated listening I'd choose The Beatles The Doors The Who Pink Floyd Tyrannosaurus Rex/T. Rex My genres of choice are Psychedelia, punk, goth, blues and classic ro...

Re: Mike Stirling
I forgot to mention Tony Interviewed the 90 year old Carol Kaye who played bass guitar on some Beach Boys albums. Her wiki entry is amazing. Here's a snatch: Carol Kaye (née Smith;[1] born March 24, 1935)[2] is an American musician. She is one of the most prolific recorded bass guitarists in rock an...

Re: Mike Stirling
Yes I sent a WhatsApp message to the show - they said a Rolling Stone magazine poll placed the Beach Boys 12th in the world's greatest bands, I complained they should be second behind the Beatles. I have no time for the modern Beano either but just wanted to share for any younger forum members who a...

Mike Stirling
Mike Stirling the Beano Director of Mischief was on Tony Livesey's Radio 5 Live show last night chatting about the funniest school in Britain. Tony asked if he would be able to come back for a longer interview on one of his Monday night shows. The night was full of tributes to Brian Wilson so listen...

£11 for a magazine strikes me as meaning the book isn't free at all. Most magazines are 6 or 7.99.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Went to Argos Old Kent Road yesterday and picked up a click and collect parcel of 40 mid 70s Busters plus the 1974 Summer Special. Although I've stopped collecting I bought them off ebay just because I'm very fond of the title and there's lots of Baxendale in them. Despite it being my 4th visit to t...

Re: JNP codes - an incomplete list
I asked former Tiger and Roy of the Rovers editor Barrie Tomlinson about this on X and this is his reply, you probably already knew this but he's on X if you want to ask him any more details. He always replies to my tweets so is quite affable. Yes. Every new comic was given a JNP number. The thinkin...

Re: Doctor Who on U&Eden channel
Must admit, watching these Pertwee Doctor Whos, every story features The Master. Couldn't stand him first time round. Same goes for Davros. There was a bloke on Radio 5 live this week talking about Doctor Who. He said the Daleks were their own masters until Davros came along at which point they beca...
