Re: DOCTOR WHO MAGAZINE - Complete Online pdf files
I think we need a forum policy on blatant piracy/theft....we're on the side of the creators, right?

Re: First all-English superhero (really?)
Actually, I like their ambition and I hope it does well even if the hyperbole falls a little flat. Hyperbole? A post on their blog headlined Comixology Announces Digital Distribution Agreement With Eco Comics suggests they should be called Ego Comics! :D But, yeah, good luck to them. A surfeit of s...

Re: Ken Reid's 70's comic work
I've recently got a big early run of Whoppee and a set of Plop. As you say Faceache does predate Plop but the similarities were pretty striking at times. Does anyone know if all the Worldwide Weirdies were by Ken, some I thought weren't but could have been off days. I thought he drew all of them, b...

Re: Ken Reid's 70's comic work
I think Ken's Faceache predates Plop! by several years, so the similarities are just a coincidence.japandroid wrote:I would say so , there is a likeness to Wolverton's Plop stuff.Nagorama wrote:Has he been inspired by Basil Wolverton to some extent for his monsters?

Re: Beano and Dandy summer specials out now!
I'm more bothered by the rather obvious spelling error on the cover of the Dandy special... :o It appears these specials were produced to a tighter dealing than normal. I remember I only had two days over a weekend to draw the front and back cover. Still, the Dandy special contains loads of superb (...

Re: Alan Moore goes digital
How long before he falls out with them? :D But seriously - a robust, open source publishing platform will be a boon for small press comic creators. So good luck to them. And, hopefully, it won't just become a gateway to a raft of expensive plug-ins that you must buy in order to use the development k...

Re: Free comic gifts - Panini stickers
The one I always loved was the Prehistoric Animals album, but I don't think it was ever a free gift. http://www.dinofan.com/dfcollectibles/dfCollectiblesImages/686_1.gif ] This brings back memories! I collected every sticker. I remember the artwork was incredible - large, double page spreads packed...

Re: Pulse no.1 - new British comic only 69p
Once again, how good to see new British comics coming out. BUT, the dreaded words, "for I-pad", appear. No mention of android and if they are daft enough to preclude the millions of android users, their business sense is a bit lacking. I would love to have this new title to read on my android table...

Re: Mail on Sunday special issue
I'm quite honestly getting sick of the Beano. It just gets rid of everything good for the sake of being traditional. Now seemingly, Wayne isn't even allowed to draw Bananaman in his own style any more. Really considering just giving the Beano up as much as it pains me to say. It's not so much tradi...
