Highly recommend that book. 'How to Make Webcomics' by Brad Guigar, Scott Kurtz, Kris Straub and Dave Kellett.

I'd rather they didn't merge. Honestly honestly honestly wish the pair of them would move into webcomics. Just seems that that avenue hasn't been fully exploited yet.

Good! Been waiting for this for years.

It's a site that allows you to find old friends(provided they have a page as well), bit like Friends Reunited but free. It's highly addictive and much better than Myspace.

I've been a bit apprehensive about this revamp. Finally got a copy today and I cringed. There's no denying this is what kids want nowadays, and maybe DCT can make a new niche out of the Dandy, leaving the Beano to concentrate soley on comics. But the reprints. Red Hot Chilli Dogs?? Is this a joke? I stopped buying the Beano and Dandy a few months ago to move on to other things but I still browse through it occassionally.

I remember for the Dandy's 60th, 2 people dressed up as Korky and Desperate Dan represented this weird interview where one of the presenters asked them questions and they held up speech bubbles in reply.

Missed it, was working - is this a permanent character or just a one off appearence?

Think it depends on what's around and what the kids want. Loads of shows like Danny Phantom use that clean cut style. As much as I like the styles of Dudley Watkins et al, in a comic today it'd look cluttered and overdrawn compared to what Jamie and Nick Brennan do. That's just how the market is ...

Not sure I agree with the dropping of Office Hours. It was the single event that kept the comic together. OK some of it wa sa bit dodge but I thought the recent stuff, especially the artwork clearly inspired by the Gorillaz was fantastic.

And pretty odd to introduce a new character when two weeks ...
