perfect Christmas gift at the 99p store
Kashgar is as ever spot on. And it just goes to show that the new "Dandy" is not the same as the original, in either content, spirit, intent or period. And it never now can be. Re: EBAY HAS A LOT TO ANSWER FOR!
Last week a copy of the first combined Dandy-Beano Summer Special published in 1963 sold on ebay for ?361. I'm not sure but I think this may be a record for a British summer special on ebay. Can anyone think if a summer special of any persuasion has sold for more? That is a record, Ray. I expected ...

Seen and not heard
I wrote only once to a comic - COR!! - and it was duly published on 24th June 1972. I have and cherish that copy, but the 25p postal order I won has long been spent.... 8) I did write a couple of times to The Beano, too, but that was before they had a letters page (1970?), and both times I got a per...

Favourite Comic Strip

They had been appearing on and off in the comic since the mid-60s (?) but it was all new and exciting for me in the early 70s. Okay, they looked like giant sponges, but still a brilliant sci-fi idea which could have been tur...

Re: THE BEANO / DANDY Collectors Club
It is run by 'Phil-comics' who seem to sell a lot of items on ebay and has a website at http://www.phil-comics.com. The direct link to the Collectors Club is http://www.phil-comics.com/collectors_club.html It says that they have been given permission by DC Thomson to reproduce images from the comic...
