Boy's Own Help 1880s
Hello all, I'm trying to find out information about Christmas issues of the Boy's Own comic from the early 1880s, perhaps 1882. In particular details of any free gifts that may have been given away. I believe there may have been a pull-out shadow puppet theatre, with a blue father Christmas figure a...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
I got an unusual one, 'The Merry Maker Comic' no. 3. Undated but I believe it is 1946. Very small at roughly A5 size and flimsy paper.
Pritned by Algar Printing.

Re: British / American Comics in China
Final scan! This is the last character in the three comics I found. This one is killing me as I'm sure I've seen the little dragon-like character in a comic or cartoon before. Is it Hanna-Barbera?

Re: British / American Comics in China
This strip I've struggled to identify. It's a strange tale which ends with a doctor in the modern era waking up or using a strange vapour. Does anyone recognise this? Rough translation is "Afterlife Revenge Story" 再世复仇记 zaishi fuchou ji https://i.pinimg.com/originals/7d/cb/80/7dcb805db9a03001a8ae2b3...

Re: British / American Comics in China
This is Fritzi Ritz, who I believe is Nancy's aunt. In this comic she is called 'Fei' Aunty (fei = cost / spend) 費姑母 However, I believe in other comics she is referred to as Fritzi 'Fei Li Zi' 費麗滋 Her boyfriend Phil Fumble also has a literal translation as 'Fei Li' 菲力 (Phil) https://i.pinimg.com/ori...

Re: British / American Comics in China
Here's the other set of comics, from c1948, printed in Nanjing. Full of American comic strips. Comic title is "Comic World" (圖画世界 Túhuà shìjiè). I picked up three copies from the outdoor antiques market in Beijing back in November. Anything from this period in China is difficult to find. Some of th...
