Where Are The Best Places to Buy Comics These Days?
I'd just like to ask where the best places to go and buy comics both in person and on line these days? And I mean actual physical comics, not E comics (as I'm still not that technically savvy). I've been buying for many years mainly from 30th Century Comics, and still do On Line (though presently no...

Been Away For Far Too Long - But I'm Back!
Hello all at comics UK. I used to contribute a lot to this site, but I've been away a long while. I wrote a post on my "Long Hiatus" away in 2018, but this one's been even longer - perhaps a record for member of this site? Since I last wrote, I've been through a lot, with some health battles, both p...

Re: Mike Noble RIP
Sad to hear that too. Drew some fantastic stuff.
I was talking to a dealer at Manchester's Comic Fair on Saturday who met Noble once and said what a nice guy he was.
2018 been a bad year for deaths of so many comic greats - John Armstrong, Steve Ditko, Stan Lee just to name a very few.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Bit of a recent assorted bonanza: Recently arrived from 30th Century Comics , their handful of remaining Pixie Comics and some Princess Tina - prompted a lot by curiosity of Pixie and the When Did The Happy Days End? thread. And I like Jane Bond and Chairman Cherry too - so Happy Days indeed! On Sat...

Re: When did The Happy Days End?
oops went twice by mistake. Bl**** computers!
Forgot to mention - thanks Goof for that listing on the Sue Day picture libraries including mentions of most of who drew them and when they were published. Plus a useful list for me to tick off ones I've got and need to find. Cheers!

Re: When did The Happy Days End?
I agree that there should be a full reprint of all The Happy Days strips - a good way would be to feature each year items were first published both comics and Picture Libraries (Sue Day 1966 for example...). As for this debate over censorship/attitudes when strips were first published, it's not real...

Re: When did The Happy Days End?
Yeah nice one Philcom! I too have the Sue Day Annual, so it's nice to see Sue's debut as it orginally was and not overburdened with colour as in the annual. Wilson's style is much sparser and basic than what it would become, and I do prefer the later style, but these early ones are great to look at ...

Re: Next Week's "The Apprentice" alert
It was good to have seen The Beano's offices with characters on its walls, & the staff's patience with the hopeless hopefuls (sounds a good title for a humour strip!) and the gallery at the beginning. Didn't say much on how comics are produced - but then I didn't know you could produce comic covers ...

Re: When did The Happy Days End?
I reckon The Happy Days would've suffered the same fate as Lucky's Living Doll when June merged with Tammy ; it perhaps would've been seen as too dated and lightweight for Tammy's policy of dramatic and streetwise stories. But The Happy Days would've been good in Tammy and agree would've given some ...

Re: Rebellion Purchase Comic Cuts & Look In
I remember Mike Noble once saying that the strip he enjoyed doing most in Look-In were the much gentler tales of Worzel Gummidge ! I never found the WG strips nearly as good as the TV series (one reason being the Crow Man rarely featured from what I remember). I hope the strips of The Tomorrow Peopl...

Re: When did The Happy Days End?
Thanks for info and that Pixie strip, Goof. Artwork looks really tremendous high quality! And thanks Philcom for going to check Princess Tina. As been stated Sue Day didn't make it to the end of Pixie , anyone any idea in which edition the final story appeared? Always felt that when Pixie was merged...

Sorry for it being belated - but thanks Kashgar for your answer on how Blubba ended.
Been to busy I've not been keeping up with things for a while.
