Re: Talking Pictures TV
Looking forward to a bit of Stingray. From memory it starts off a little infantile in places but soon sheds that ahead of the leap to Thunderbirds.

Re: Mighty Moth and Barney Bear
TV Comic was always a penny more than its competitors but always very entertaining. I never understood the inclusion of Mighty Moth but what a great 5 minute cartoon it would have made. Again I never understood the inclusion of TWO Roobarb strips. In the end I lost interest with the format change (n...

Re: Supercomic
As there’s so much detail in this, I wonder if it was intended as an album rather than weekly comic - a bit like Willy the Kid later.

Was it published like that with “Holy Bum” ? I get the context for what happens next but seems a bit un-Beano like.

Re: Marvel UK
The Moomins are so full of lore and magic that only having two issues and a special seems a very poor return by anyone’s effort. I have happy memories of the late Keith Barron reading Comet in Moominland daily over 5 episodes of the BBC series Jackanory. This portent of doom was compelling as the te...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
I’m awaiting a large pile of very early Tammy comics from 1971 & 1972, created under the heavy influence of Pat Mills, with tales of working class girls living lives of terror and disappointment against foes such as Ma Thatcher. Very Mills!

Re: Viz issue #1
Nice to see it signed off by Chris Donald. It doesn’t have a number on the back and look pristine but that’s because it’s from a small batch of 1st prints that were kept in an envelope. The story I got from Anderson & Garland when I got mine was that the guy who did that back in 1979 then went on a ...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
I’m a Marvel UK diehard fan but even I’d never heard of their 1982 comic Not the World Cup which includes an early Alan Moore story. Now purchased and on its way.
