Re: Some interesting observations about collecting

Sometimes when i visit a charity shop and make some great comic or annual finds I expect to find more from the same shop in the weeks that follow only to be disappointed. Usually when I least expect it I find comics I want to buy. It's surprising with the hundreds of comics and annual titles produce...

Re: What comics DIDN'T you buy today?

There were a few interesting items in the charity shops today but I don!t think I was in a buying mood, These included Greyfriars Holiday annuals from 1979_to_1986 at £2 each ,they are made up of reprints of the Magnet and Gem etc, I like the nostalgic aspect of these old story papers but too much r...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Picked up the Tonto comic for £2.50 from the charity shop this morning and having seen the comic in the shop window for weeks am suprised it was still there. Re: What comics did you buy today?

A few comics left in the charity shop window this morning and it was only when I went into the shop and picked one up that I noticed the prices had been reduced. Bought the Tom Mix comic ( L.Miller & son Ltd London ) which was reduced from £5 to £2.50. https://i.imgur.com/u9K9f4B.jpg Comics that wer...

Visited the charity shop to see if they had reduced their comic prices but to no avail even though the comics have sat in the window for a few weeks. Rarely buy girl's comics but on to the market a stall holder had a pile of Mandy comics and when I asked the price he said £10 the lot , I didn't want...

Re: To buy or not to buy

When I watch so-called experts on telly they are nearly always seated in front of bookcases filled with books. Not quite like the old movies where the narrator stands in front of rows of ornate leather bound books. While comic hunting I sometimes buy some of these huge 19th century books which are u...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
