Re: What comics did you buy today?

I’m stacking up on hardbacks for my new comic library. Just picked up a book on Frank Bellamy’s Doctor Who work in Radio Times. Also the newly published Steel Claw collection. I must get that Steel Claw collection. Did you get the hardback in that? I'm not 100% on the covers for either of them to b...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Tales of Dread a Comic Album by G. T. Limited from 1959. Does anyone know anything about G.T. please as I can't seem to find much info on them on the web. GCD says they only issued 15 different titles and all Comic Albums. Looking at the titles, I have most of them so I'm interested in the history o...

It's lovely to see that there are still people that have absolutely no understanding of the worth of an annual! :D

Doug, I really must encourage you to start a thread listing out not only your Top 10 hard to finds now secured but also what Holy Grail and others still remain illusive. It would be a fascinating read.
Ha! I’ll have a think on that Shiner. There have been and are, so many tough ones to find.

Re: What did you get for Christmas?

Love all of the Christmas comics. I’m reading the Valiant Summer Special that I received today which may seem odd but it completes my set of all of the Valiant Specials so I’m chuffed to bits!

Re: Ebay - you want how much for it???

This is on gumtree if anyone has twelve grand to spare. I've been looking for the varied contents of Double Double Comics to add to the Grand Comics Database entries. https://www.gumtree.com/p/comics/rare-double-double-comics-for-sale-/1391067452 It does include the issue with the first appearance ...

There is a Facebook group called Mighty World of British Comics and there are some extremely knowledgeable guys and girls there. Loads of artists and people “in the know”. I’m sure you will find some answers there.

The new Battle Of Britain Special from Rebellion. Rat Pack as nasty as ever, balanced by a short story that left me a bit misty-eyed, and I've still lots to read. In the shops later this week. 100 pages.
I’m looking forward to mine arriving.

Re: What comics did you buy today?

As an infant my first comic collection, consisting only of Pippin and Playland, was thrown away by my mother. I’ve always meant to go back and reacquire those very early 1970s issues. Now the first few dozen are due to roll in, so I can relive the delights of The Moonbeans, The Herbs and Mary Mungo...

Completed my Alan Class Super Mouse collection this afternoon with the hard to find No.2. Thank you eBay!
They’re both really tough to get. I picked up my #2 this year too.
