Re: DC Thomson Heritage Comics?
DCT are certainly taking their time ‘tidying up’ their social media. Does anybody know what has happened to their Heritage Comics department? Only asking out of pure selfishness as I was hoping they would be able to provide archive gems as Rebellion are doing with their Treasury of British Comics ra...

DC Thomson Heritage Comics?
Hi all, I was excited to see DC Thomson following in the footsteps of Rebellion and finally dipping in to their archives. I bought the Starblazer book recently and even downloaded the Spellbound digital comic on ComiXology before it mysteriously disappeared a few days after Halloween. I now see that...

History Of Comics Partwork?
I just had a moment of inspiration! Now that Rebellion own most of UK comics heritage outside of DC Thomson and they already have a successful tie up with Hachette for their Judge Dredd and 2000ad collections, wouldn’t it be great if they launched something similar based on UK comics that have been ...

Thanks, Col. That's a great idea, would you happen to have email address at all? No harm in trying, is there ?!

Victor/Warlord/Hotspur Picture Library
I wonder if one of these would work as a companion to Commando? Either reprinting classic strips or reviving them... I know there would be a lot of work reformatting the old strips for the Commando size so maybe that would be prohibitive. What about a Red Dagger picture library (picking best from al...

fantastic News Inside, Readers!
Loving this news - I will be buying each and every one of these on publication, even if I have to raid the kids money boxes to do so!
Well done, Rebellion!

Re: Beano to get CGI revamp for YouTube generation
Personally, I love the new logo and look. Am a 'little' concerned that we might be seeing less strip content... the 'massive STORY inside' tagline sounds a bit ominous.. although I loved the longer stories that we have seen in the past (particularly the Kev F illustrated ones!). I was kind of lookin...

Re: Rebellion acquire Egmont's archive of strips and charact
This is indeed fantastic news! I have no idea how much a deal like this actually costs Rebellion, but considering Time Inc are doing nigh on nothing with most of the pre-1970 material they own the rights to, wouldn't it be great if Rebellion could also gain the rights there? This would solve any dou...

Re: the Dandy Summer Special 2016 is now available
Just bought this and it just made me yearn for the Dandy weekly comic again. The last incarnation (post-Dandy Xtreme hideousness) was the funniest comic that had been on the shelves for years imho. The kids loved it too! If The Beano Studios project takes off for DCT, it would be great if they could...

NUTTY COMIC
In the current issue of the Beano, Dennis's dad has a new job which means that Dennis is leaving Beanotown. Obviously the Internet is aghast (well, there are a few concerned posts here and there!) but I am quite excited to see who he may meet there.... Favourite Nutty characters? Other than the obvi...

Re: Website gone
That's good to hear, Lew! I wonder if Smiths will break with tradition, allow common sense to trump the computer logic, realise that most people (surely) haven't finished their Christmas shopping yet, and order some more copies for the shelves??!
Would be interesting to see if that happens!

Re: Now in whs
Same for me, Lew. Bit of a worry as we all know how 'specific' the WHS re-ordering system can be: "sold 2, therefore only need to re-stock 2 etc.". Hope they iron out the problems quickly!

What's in store for The Beano?
Just taking some time to catch up on my favourite comics pages and clocked this teaser on Nigel Parkinson's blog...
"Exciting times ahead for The Beano.
I wish I could say more but I just can't.
No, really"
Any thoughts, people?

Cuddles & Dimples to return....
From the great Nigel Parkinson's blog it seems that a new series of Cuddles & Dimples adventures is in the works.. And not 'definitely' for an annual.. "I'm afraid it's true, fresh from my drawing board and Nika's colouring tablet comes this worrying evidence that the story of those terrifyingly awf...
