Hi folks,

Does anyone have any samples of work Alberto Breccia did for Fleetway? Think he only worked for 'em for a short time in the 60s. I've only reacquainted myself with his work (Mort Cinder etc) recently and forgot how stunning it was.

Not too keen either on the "Hot mums" type article (but teenage boys and all that so "fair do's") It's pandering. 2 things. 1) I thought the "lads mag" elements were pretty regrettable. Dragging it down into a cynical Nuts gutter. Wish it didn't feel the need to pander to worst in teen boys/young men. Think some attempt at reaching out to young women would have been laudable - rather than stuffing the thing wit...

I thought the points about the craven sycophancy were quite damning. And he didn't spare his own paper either!

The tiny policemen in Maze 2 are pure Steve, however. Really weird seeing them in that kind of context.

The time period we're talking about would, I think, be 1977-1979. Pretty short window. So maybe someone can turn something up. I'll be talking to him, on stage, on Saturday - so would LOVE to hit him with something obscure!

Hey folks. Apart from "Gremlins" for Jackpot, what other work for UK kids' comics has Steve Bell done? I seem to recall he did strips for the likes of Whoopee and Cheeky too...but details are fuzzy.

Oh and if anyone has any scans of "Gremlins" (or anything else) that would be superb.

Not what she was looking for I'm afraid, but she has elaborated a bit on her memories... as far as i remember the main character is a young woman whose boyfriend/husband is a fisherman. the woman, who only she can see, initially seems as threat, appearing scarily on clifftops with lanterns etc., but...
