Thanks for confirming, Lew.
Anyone in the know who can add any more information? Before we start speculating...?

...anyone else having trouble obtaining a copy? None of the my usual local retailers have it. Visited London last weekend and no luck there either.

Dandy tribute in today's Independant
DC Thomson's own Sunday Post ran a one-page feature in its magazine yesterday. There was a quote from the Dandy editor in there, saying that the Xtreme rebranding had proved "very popular". Shame that the comic itself doesn't seem to be marking its anniversary...

Dandy & Beano: Our Crazy Creatures
Indeed. The third book of the 'Golden Years' books to be produced, I believe. There was a Dandy/Beano book a number of years ago made up of Adventure strips.

British Comics for Foreign Markets
I wish the subject could have arisen in connection with less depressing news than the death of Phil Gascoine, but I'm fascinated to hear that DC Thomson are currently publishing a comic called Wendy exclusively for overseas readers - years beyond the cancellation of Bunty, which I'd previously ...

Thoughts people?
I felt the design of the features pages was up on the first issue. There's a lot more advertising this time round - including the four page Cartoon Network strip that I think may also be in this week's Beano (and definitely in Beano Max). This means that four pages are taken from ...

I'm actually surprised that the UK children's magazine market hasn't been influenced *more* by the US market...
OK, so we're getting a lot of US reprint material (such as that in Panini's Cartoon Network and Scooby-Doo titles), but I feel that the US children's magazines, for example Nick magazine ...

Hi all,
Just been away for a a couple of days and picked up the new Dandy today; have enjoyed reading the comments here too!
It doesn't really feel like The Dandy at all. As others here have mentioned, what surprised me most was that this now appears to be a publication aimed solely at the pre ...

Teaser in this week's Dandy
For what it's worth (and I know nowt), I think a children's magazine has as much chance of success as a children's newspaper.
There are already children's magazines running successfully in the UK (Kraze Club, CY, National Geographic Kids, DK Find Out...) as well as a couple of children's ...

I also spy '16 page comic'... could the strips be in a pull-out centre page section?
Looks very Toxic-esque.

Hmmm... new logo looks nice.
Not really sure about reprinting the old Desperate Dan strips though, particularly if the changes are to reflect the changing interests of the youngsters reading the comic.
Best,
Chris

The name change seems a bit of a shame. Surely the content could have been altered without changing the name...
I really hope they'll continue the issue numbering. With the Dandy changing to a fortnightly, the Beano will eventually take over as the world's longest running comic (assuming that stays ...

Smut
Having looked at the first issue of 'Twisted', there's actually very little difference between this and 'Smut'.
The artwork on the whole is reasonable enough, but the scripts are, IMHO, not funny. The ads for porn lines are still there and there appears to be a lot of reprint stuff. I say appears ...
