Re: Judge Dredd vs the 70's
Already added to my RSS feed on Thunderbird* (it won't show me up as a follower I'm afraid). A great idea. Adam Eterno and the Spider would be great to return in DC Comics (probably much to the horror of most of the posters on here but those characters are great). I'd like to see an artist try a Kra...

Re: DC Comics to re-start from number 1
If you mean less serious stories like 1960s Batman, they disappeared due to the more serious Marvel upstarts selling out their runs and eclipsing these stories with their 'what if superheroes were real' schtick. The Brit comics characters like Billy Bunter were also very dated at the end of their ru...

Re: Conduct Of Members
I'd also highlight the Foes option in the User Control Panel. It's been such a relief to not have read the posts of the more, um, 'precise' members in the last two years. Makes it so very much more comfortable a read. I know I'm not the only one, so why not give it a go if someone's annoying. You wo...

Re: Disney ban non-American Marvel comics
Well, I thought Zenith was terrific. I also loved that dark Action special too. Did to Brit characters what Alan Moore did to Charlton's. And both stories were superb. I don't think IPC characters have anything to do with the Zenith limbo situation. For a start, the majority were re-named and mainly...

Re: Disney ban non-American Marvel comics
I think Blue Beetle was due to a copyright issue. The previous one was actually public domain due to being a golden-age character, whilst the new one is a different character/design. Mind you, it (and so many others) are only officially public domain in the USA, even though they are distributed in t...

Re: Doctor Who 2011
Standard sci-fi plot - a lot of different angles that could be taken. Try Philip K Dick's 'Man In The High Castle' for a particularly good tale.

Re: VALIANT LAST ON THE MASTHEAD
Works really well though as a title. The Action 'logo' became purely another word, rather than any reminisce of the old comic. In fact, Battle Action is a lot better title than Battle Picture Weekly. Of course it eventually became Battle (Battle Action Force - not soo good) but I prefer Battle Actio...

Re: Doctor Who 2011
I would ask Lew Stringer, once again,- Kindly please do not make references to my posts please! That is all I would like please. Others on this thread have very kindly helped me to understand and follow those Dr Who episodes via supplying me with helpful advise as i'm slow on the uptake! I did not ...

Re: Just Books
Finished Edgar Rice Burroughs 'Warlord of Mars', now reading some writings on Ancient History (thought it was about time), 'Against All Things Ending' - the last chronicles of Thomas Covenant and 'The Man in the High Castle' by Philip K Dick, as well as ecological/biological/environmental stuff for ...

I don't think he was but there is the option of ignoring people by adding them to your foes list in the control panel. Makes the reading so much more pleasant at times.

Still sells more for Time Warner than any of DC Comics amazingly enough.

Re: Disney ban non-American Marvel comics
Really they should use their lead in time to make a UK superhero a la Marvelman / Capt Marvel. No idea how long they've got or licensing requirements but including either a free promo or changing the title to Spider-Man and Super-Invertebrate-Man then running with it, might well be worth it. Bit of ...

Re: Should auld acquaintance be forgot
The SNP have done an excellent job of running Scotland. As a number of people have said, it was a vote for the Scottish Parliament, not independence. If there's a referendum on independence or not, then it'll be a close run thing. If there's a further question about more devolved powers but within t...

Re: Osama bin Laden - dead
Far left BBC  pundits over journalism. Way of the world I guess. Why report facts, when you can have an opinion? I though Bin Laden had died years ago. Never was convinced by those audio tapes. Didn't think someone like that would stay so invisible for so long. Unfortunately, I doubt it'll make...

Re: Doctor Who 2011
I enjoyed that a lot. Unfortunately, next episode looks back to being the children's programme. A far cry from Blink or The Empty Child. In fact, a far cry from most of Pertwee or Baker's adventures too.
