Re: Anyone recognize the artist behind this signature?

Hello Sir-L, A potential help from the other side of the Channel : Investigate on Joan Aliu Puig. Coming from a little town about 50 miles from Barcelona, I expect potential contacts with the SI team, and why not Martin Salvador. For the fun, the art from Helgonet has been translated in France for ...

Re: Our Colin (aka colcool007)

I haven't seen this until now. I'm very sad to hear of his Colcool007s passing.
He was always helpful in my quest to identify brittish comics published in Sweden.
My condolences.

Re: Need help identifying a comic

The Swedish weekly magazine Allers published many early British comics in early 20th century. Comics like "Weary Willie & Tired Tim", "Fun on Board the Mary Anne", "Homeless Hector", "Basil & Bert" and "Pitch and Toss". Another comic that I think must be British, but I can't find anything about, is ...

Re: Anyone recognize the artist behind this signature?

Got an answer from a former editor of the Swedish Helgonet. Even though he only worked there for a couple of years he had some recollection. Though he did not know who the artist was, he said that they commissioned the art from the Spanish art agency Selecciones Ilustradas. And he too saw the likene...

Re: Anyone recognize the artist behind this signature?

Wonder if the art is by Martin Salvador. His work looks very similar. Yes, it might be. I found two samples of his artwork, one for the same series ("The Saint") and another with a different signature, though... Martin Salvador.jpgHelgonet (El Santo, 1973) by Spanish artist Santiago Martin S...

Re: Need help identifying a Reg Smythe daily strip feature

The copyright BULLS could suggest it was from John Bull magazine which was still going up to the early sixties. I've asked my mate Steve to check as he collects John Bull magazine and may also have Reg Smythe's biography. Sorry. I should have mentioned that Bulls are a Swedish print syndicate who, ...

Need help identifying a Reg Smythe daily strip feature

A friend of mine has found a daily strip in Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet by Reg Smythe . The strip is presented in the article below as starring Andy Capp's son. The Swedish name of the strip is "Lill-Viktor och Lotta", (translated "Lil' Viktor and Lotta" – Andy Capp's Swedish name is "Tuffe-Viktor...

Re: Anyone recognize the artist behind this signature?

Four more years have passed and I still have no clue who this artist is.

Anyone?

(I know I'm three month early, but it's different times so I thought I might as well jump the gun on this one. :) )

George Martin's Bunion in Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet

Due to the current world events (Corona) the National Library of Sweden has opened up their vast collection of digitalized daily papers for everyones enjoyment. (Half of Swedens comic buffs are currently in the process of downloading the comic related content.) What I found interesting was the devel...

Re: Need help identifying a comic

Long time no see. I stumbled on another daily that supposedly is British. "Pappas pojke", translation Dad's boy, found in a Swedish news paper in 1946 to 1947. Here are some examples: https://sir-l.se/100procentserier/bilder/s/known/UK/large/dads_boy_19460417.jpg https://sir-l.se/100procentserier/bi...

Re: Unknown Artist for British Girls'Comics

Ok. Talking to an swedish Comics expert. He reminded me that the Comic I thought of as by Ian Kennedy, accually was by Alberto Salinas. So that's my next suggestion. :)

Re: Unknown Artist for British Girls'Comics

It takes a lot to stump David Roach AND Jenni Scott but this prolific artist of British girls' comics for DC Thomson and IPC has them both baffled. I wonder if anybody here can come up with a name? (Terry Patrick and Neville Wilson have been suggested, but in either case it would involve a surprisi...

Ok, so I'll try this one again (another four years later).

Anyone recognize the signature, or the art style?

Re: Need help identifying a comic

Well, here I go again: The swedish comics book Fantomen ran three different versions of "Robin Hood". One of those was copyright IPC. My questions are: Who's behind the comic? Where was it published? The picture is too big to post it here, so here's the url: http://seriewikin.serieframjandet.se/imag...
