Re: The Vigilant, - new comic from Rebellion

Sid is right. I was probably expecting a modern day version of lion or valiant.
I read the vigilant for a second time and it made more sense. I hope more issues are produced.

Re: The Vigilant, - new comic from Rebellion

This could have been so much better. Why ape american comics when the characters came from uk comics.
Annoying that the writers felt they had to ape a different format.

Re: Victor/Warlord/Hotspur Picture Library

As an experiment i reformatted a rory mcduff story from lion comic into a picture library. It works perfectly and is not that difficult. Could be a winner

The three musketeers

Just read the reprint of the three musketeers produced by the book palace. Originally seen in film fun and lion comics. Beautiful production.

Re: Comic Artwork

i recently bought some ted kearon art on e bay.
it is a beautiful piece of zip nolan strip from 'lion' comic 1963.
look under 'comic art' on ebay and you should find plenty.
it is a little expensive.

Re: Whizzer and Chips 1976 annual without the year on the cover

'lion' annual 1978 had some copies published with no year printed on cover.

Probably not many around as it was a year when the softcover version was produced.

Re: Anyone out there with memories of sending a joke to a comic?

had a joke published in 'lion'. still have the copy with gadgetman and gimmick kid on the cover.
won a copy of huckleberry finn for my efforts
what a great feeling to see your joke in a comic at that time
probably means very little now
