Re: Buster Special 2009
Thanks to Matt for sending me one all the way to Australia. It was a good read after all these years, but at the same time I was a bit disappointed. I have pretty much the same complaints as everyone else, mainly regarding the adventure stories & how pointless it was putting in one part of a story y...

Bustercomic.com says goodbye
I've been going over this decision for the past year & have spoken at length to Matt from Bustercomic.co.uk about this. I've decided to close Bustercomic.com. It has been a REALLY difficult decision but ultimately I have little choice as I can't run the site the way I want it to be run. Allow me to ...

Re: Buster Quiz
It could have been advertised in more than one place. It's glossy so it could be the back page or inside back/front of one of the "Best of" or compilation comics (Big Comic, or Funny Fortnightly) at a guess.
I can't be bothered going through my collection to find out exactly

Re: Famous fans
OH, I forgot The Goodies & Cor.
Does anyone know the link to that MySpace?
Apparently Craig Charles was mentioned in Buster itself as well (Thanks Matt from bustercomic.co.uk). Probably a long shot, but does anyone know the issue?
Thanks for the help with this

Famous fans
It's been months since I was last here & even longer since I last did a website update to bustercomic.com TIme to get back into it. I want to work on a section for celebrities who were fans of any Fleetway comics. So far I have 3: Tony Martin - New Zealand comedian living in Australia used to read W...

Re: IPC and Egmont. Who owns what characters?
I've been in contact with Egmont in recent months (hence my lack of updates on the site), & from what I can gather you're all right in regards to ownership of characters belonging to Egmont, but I wasn't aware of a cut off date... Apparently they have no interest in selling of characters either just...

Dennis the Menace in The Sun today
I imported the Dennis boxset (as it was never sold outside the UK to my knowledge) & I was... disheartened I suppose you could say. I enjoyed it & as a stand alone program it was fun to watch, but it wasn't "Dennis the Menace", not as we know him in the Beano. If anything I felt that it was a mix of...

Updates on Bustercomic.co.uk
Yes, that happened in the early to mid 80s from what I've been told, during the Reg Parlett era. I have no examples unfortunately. Good to see some updates on your site. I've kinda put bustercomic.com on hold, as the people at Egmont want to sort out something with the scans I've been putting up. I ...

Leo Baxendale: influence on Tom Paterson
I've noticed the Ken Reid influence, particularly in the faces of certain characters he draws. Tom Paterson comics vary so much I think he just likes experimenting with different styles... either that or there are 2 or 3 people drawing under the alias "Tom Paterson" :) (for the record, I know that l...
