Re: Our Colin (aka colcool007)
I didn’t know Colin personally, and had no contact with him bar one or two friendly exchanges on this forum, but I’m one of many who has benefitted from his huge knowledge of comics, and his generosity in sharing that knowledge on this forum and elsewhere. Please pass on my thanks and best wishes.

Re: Possession in British Girls' Comics
What I had in mind was not so much stories about mischievous trouble-maker doubles as those where the double tries to replace the heroine, taking over her life and depriving her of her identity. The Mandy Annual story is one example of this. This situation is still not strictly possession, but can h...

Re: Possession in British Girls' Comics
Another kind of evil influence theme which may be worth looking at is the doppelgänger story. This isn’t strictly possession, but it has a similar effect, in that the heroine is acting evilly (in the person of her double) without being aware of it or able to control it. There are probably quite a fe...

Re: Possession in British Girls' Comics
Another one which may be worth mentioning is "The Strange Ones", about three alien girls who take over a ballet school and its local town. You probably know this, Hypnojoo, from its appearance in Spellbound, but I see that it was originally published in Diana in 1964, which must make it one of the e...

Re: Possession in British Girls' Comics
This may not be exactly what you are looking for, but possession/hypnosis was a fairly regular theme in ballet stories – evil Svengalis who hypnotise dancers for their own ends, shoes which won’t let the wearer stop dancing and so on. I’m struggling to come up with a really distinctive early example...

Re: How do you store annuals
You may know about this already, but if you haven’t seen it you might find it worth looking at the advice of 30th Century Comics on storage: https://30thcenturycomics.co.uk/comic-storage/ Another point may be worth considering. I’m no expert on this topic, but the worst deterioration problem that I’...

I can do the penultimate episode, 28 November 1981, if that's of use.

Re: SANDIE: "Dancing to Danger" ARTIST
I'm afraid I don't have the final strip, but I see that Jenni Scott does have that issue, so the 29 September date seems to be confirmed. Here's the episode from 28 July 1973, which has a nice juicy villain in Tom Kerr's inimitable style. https://i.imgur.com/2dNU5GE.jpg https://i.imgur.com/u51d2vQ.j...

Re: SANDIE: "Dancing to Danger" ARTIST
You were unlucky with this first episode, which was drawn by Robert MacGillivray. Tom Kerr drew the rest of the serial.
Happy to provide a sample scan of a page by Kerr, if it would be of use.

No problem. I'll do the scan tomorrow (it's now late evening our time) and email it to you. Jintys are a tight fit for my scanner, but it hope it will all be legible.
