Re: Bustercomic.co.uk - A bit of shameless shelf promotion
Bumping this for no good reason really, just that I got a Buster '78 annual today (curse those damn anomalous paperback formats) and am now more sure than ever that it's the best of the fleetway humour titles by quite some way. I never really thought so at the time, mind you. Although it always ...

Re: Spider
Wow interesting. But was the strip itself also restricted to this format or did it appear in a weekly comic (or annual)? Seems like something that might have featured in Thunder (can't remember if that was fleetway, off hand however).

Just noticed this ebay auction (it's probably finished now), and was curious to know where the story originated. It looks pretty interesting:

Re: Most annoying comic strip
Just remembered one strip that always seems tedious to me - the jocks and the geordies, is it called? Jeesh. I'm guessing it's the bully beef artist - and I like that strip fine. But for some reason I just can't get into it.

Yep, rossmac - that's spot on, about the human characters. These are *definitely* not the previous artist, Grigg as you say. So yeah - the question does indeed seem to be who drew it prior to Nixon.

Yeah - I don't actually know it at all. Haven't got any annuals or comics from then, and never have had either. Earliest I go back ...

Re: Binding - i.e. having comics bound
Out of the light - right, yeah. Will do. Gotta say though, this binding idea seems really nice to me. Those spines look fantastic! I'm wondering if there'd be anyone in the yellow pages who offering some sort of book binding services who could do work like this? The downside to it would be that once ...

Re: When (in the '80s) did the artist for Korky the Cat change?
Thanks! It's just that I got a small stack of Dandys from '84 the other week and the art seems quite different.

When (in the '80s) did the artist for Korky the Cat change?
Can anyone tell me please when the artist for Korky the Cat changed? It seems constant from the late '60s at least, to sometime in the early '80s - perhaps '83?
Thanks all!

Re: Most annoying comic strip
Dannys Tranny from Topper.Eventhough it was at one stage in the 70s the cover star of Topper it always looked and felt very old fashioned. What kids in the 70s used the term transistor radio.
Noooooo!! Well, okay - a bit. But what made this strip work for more was the art. A little more "realistic ...

Re: morgan the mighty
Thankee, thankee. In the meantime I'll try to edit my post to reflect what appears to be the correct spelling of the strip in question. I.e. MORGYN the Mighty.
Maybe that's why the search function wasn't turning much up.

There is, apparently, a Prodigy off-shoot called Janus Stark.
