Re: The Final Dandy

Still no sign of my copy although I got a nice email from DC Thomson apologising for the delay and saying I should have it by the end of the week :xfingers:

Re: The Final Dandy

My local Smiths in Surrey Quays, London finally had some copies - I bought one (and am still waiting for two copies ordered from Thomsons). I was disappointed - too many old strips given a modern look. I'd be happy if I never saw Jamie Smart's artwork ever again. My copies arrived yesterday and the...

Re: Buster adventure stories

Well I'd certainly buy a collected collection or two of the strips either hardback or like the marvel essentials range, or even something like the doomlord floppy that came out a few years ago (You can never have enough Doomlord! :P ).

That's a shame re DC - Do they reply to snailmail?

That's brilliant news! I absolutely adored his work in the Doctor Annuals (so much so that I found out who actually did it when I was 10!)

Glad all's well :)

Re: Subtle advertising

Thanks for those links to your blog Niblet, as always very informative! I need to read them more often, time, sir time! To be honest I did not expect a reply especially with examples like that. Do you think they were really trying to drum up readership or trying to make it look good for loyal Krazy...

Of course, the police are waiting.

Re: Krazy comic chat..

I don't think I ever picked up a summer special though so that's doubly annoying if there was one out then! :headbash: Er, you missed 7 specials, actually http://comicsuk.co.uk/specials.php?ComicTitleID=106 After Krazy I moved onto cheeky weekly though so it wasn't all bad lol  :D 7?!! How on e...

Re: Krazy comic chat..

It would seem there were plans afoot to resurrect Krazy in a different form very soon after its demise - http://comicsuk.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=148&t=4238 Sadly, as we know, nothing came of them. That's a real shame - I remember getting that best of and before realising it was reprinted stuff,...

Re: Peter Gray comic website

Would like to add my tuppence worth to this thread - found Peter's site while on a Tom Paterson/Ken Reid surf and was just in awe of all the lovely scans to be found there. A fantastic piece of work by a guy who seems informative and a real gentleman! Hats off to you sir! :D Ps My best to you and yo...

Re: Krazy comic chat..

Over the weekend, my brother and I were discussing childhood comics and he mentioned that he used to love pongalongapongo. Mainly just because he found the name Pongo Snodgrass (or Snodgraddis as he used to pronounce it) to be one of the funniest names ever but also for the fantastic Ian Knox art. D...

Re: Buster adventure stories

Thanks for the link starscape - loved the video!

Will you be reprinting more of them? I'm thinking particularly of the grey ghost / leopardman robot stories that have stuck in my mind since childhood.

Fantastic art and great stories 8)

The Leopard from Lime Street was my favourite adventure story - wish there was a graphic novel of these (and maybe Galaxus) :(

Re: Krazy comic chat..

Krazy was my first regular comic when I was a boy and to be honest nothing else ever came close for me. The art was fantastic, the strips insane and Trevor Metcalfe's Birdman and Chicken still influences how I draw cartoons. (It's still my favourite cartoon strip after Sweeny Toddler). I used to lov...
