Re: David Pugh's Dan Dare Art

Lovely stuff! Perhaps an unfashionable incarnation, but I rather enjoyed it at the time, and DP's artwork was impeccable 8)

(And I bet the art looks a lot better on the original boards than that incredibly thin and glossy weekly gossip mag-type paper Eagle was being printed on in them days!)

Re: Eagle Picture Library

The full gallery of covers can be seen here: http://www.comicvine.com/eagle-picture-library/4050-43374/ I was fortunate to scoop up a copy of #2, the Jet-Ace Logan one, not that long ago. EPL was a great little set, really wish there were some more - a wonderful intro to older, more obscure strips f...

Re: Comic artists working in other fields..like advertising

Years back whilst in some doctor's waiting room or other I spotted a couple of leaflets with some suspiciously familiar-looking artwork... Step forward Ian Gibson! I contacted Ian Gibson about this, and he swears it's not him - though he was impressed that someone went to the trouble of trying to r...

Re: 'Supermags' titles - for Boys, for Girls, Comics...

I recently snagged me a copy of the Super Mags For Boys (a Bearpaw Jay story + football yarn ‘The Feud’) - very happy! I almost managed to get the Super Mags Comic (Dennis & Gnasher + Nick Kelly) too, but some rogue snaffled it in the closing minutes from under my nose, arrgh! Oh well, there'll be o...

Another fan of the Family Trees here! But I totally understand how other things can eat into the time, effort and energy necessary to get such things back up.

We can dream, though 8)

'Supermags' titles - for Boys, for Girls, Comics...

Hello there... Whilst poring over a folder of old clippings and notes I came across a chronology of DC Thomson titles I had put together many, many moons ago - and was reminded of what I think were an early attempt to put out reprint material from the Dundonian vaults in a premium format, namely thr...
