On another note concerning annuals, does anybody know how far in advance they are prepared...? At what point during the year are the story/artwork deadlines for the 2010 annuals due for instance? Or are they already done and dusted by this early stage?

Yes, you're quite right, Lew- apologies for my flippancy. I saw a few bargains at the right time and snapped 'em up... and perhaps a couple of christmas tipples encouraged me to boast about my gains.
Even before Christmas most annuals will be discounted with a couple of quid off, or in a BOGOF ...

I got all of the above today in Waterstones Kendal today, for £1.50 each, except for the Bash Street Kids annual- which I haven't actually seen anywhere this year.
Still, not bad at all, eh? Why buy before Christmas....? Unless of course you've got kids expecting them on Christmas morn....

I'm sure I read an interview recently with someone in the know who said that McDonalds had not actually threatened anything and it was the publishers who panicked over it. Perhaps I dreamed it but if I can find the interview I'll let you know.
