Re: Comics on TV

Posting today from the better late than never department... here's a pic from the first regular episode of Porridge (New Faces, Old Hands), where Heslop (played by the great Brian Glover) is reading the Beezer. Can you identify this story (possibly from School Friend Annual)

Someone in the Today's Inspiration group on Facebook is trying to identify the source and the artist for some artwork they've acquired. The story concerns a girl called Mea (who knows about healing), her goat, Pad, a man called Brin and a sorcerer's stone. It looks like it might say "School Friend A...

Re: Topper Comic

Topper and Sparky (as it was then) gave away a belt as a consolation prize for readers whose submissions weren't actually published (they would list the consolation prize winners in each issue). Those readers who were published could also choose the belt instead of one of the six main prizes. They s...

Re: Vulcan "Lost" Issues????

Those covers are from fan-made compilations. Initially they used the Kobra issues to continue Vulcan beyond the point where it merged with Valiant. When they ran out of Kobras they carried on by using scans from the comics where the strips originally appeared.

Re: Boys Adventure Comic blog

I've indexed it onto GCD just awaiting approval. I got some more information from Lew Stringer's blog. Is the back cover identical to the front? Also what was its original price? Perhaps someone could check the entry when it is approved and add any info they have. The price was £1. Pages 3-8 (The H...

It's Enid Blyton's The Island of Adventure. How interesting. I wonder where it was going to see print and why it didn't?
