Re: What comics did you buy today?

Doctor Who Magazine #530, with a very well done resolution to the last ongoing twelfth Doctor comic strip...including the long awaited return of Shayde from the old Doctor Who Monthly strips.

Striker Returns!

Just picked up the first issue of Pete Nash's revived Striker comic, and I thoroughy enjoyed it. Not sure how long it'll last though; I gather the crowdfunding campaign has guaranteed at least twelve weekly issues, but there's no guarantee it'll have found a viable audience by then. Here's hoping. A...

Re: The Vigilant, - new comic from Rebellion

Hi everyone, So I picked this up the other day and was reasonably excited to read it. I gave it a shot, but I really, really, really didn't like the direction of travel Rebellion has set for these legacy characters. What had originally made these characters popular wasn't there aping of the america...

Re: The Vigilant, - new comic from Rebellion

I'll have to re read it too as couldn't read the red on black writing at all and thought it was a bit mish mash or jumbled mess so i'm gonna re read the scream /misty story again then this but i did love the fact Max was in it and Blake Edmunds felt like 80's Eagle for a bit. Because that is what s...

Von Hoffman's Invasion

Received a nice surprise in the post a few days ago: my prize for getting a letter printed in the Judge Dredd Megazine was a free copy of the new collected edition of Von Hoffman's Invasion from Jet (and later Buster). Absolutely wonderful stuff from Tom Tully and Eric Bradbury. There's a link here ...

That is still one of my favourite things on the internet. God, that man is a terrible artist.

Re: All-New Roy of the Rovers Graphic Novels

The line "no money, no players, no hope" in that teaser ad makes it sound worryingly grim'n gritty, like American comics of the 90s. I just hope they haven't gone the whole hog and hired Rob Liefeld to draw it; Roy's famous left foot would be in real trouble, then!

I am fairly certain that most of the country had better things to think about. I, for instance, put up a shelf!

Re: Rebellion reveal their plans for classic Fleetway charac

This year's Free Comic Book Day giveaway edition of 2000 AD features a rather nice little one page spoof strip of Tharg's Nerve Centre being invaded by a horde of characters "rescued from the Maxwell vortex", including Hookjaw, Gums, Frankie Stein, Odd Ball, Sweeny Toddler, Roy Race, Moonchild, One ...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Have you seen what that full run of Vulcan went for on compal? I bought a full run this year on eBay for £40. The compal price was incredible. I couldn't believe the price! I thought it may have been a Scottish set which are worth that much more but they weren't. Maybe the buyer thought they were! ...
