Re: Any subscribers got their first issue yet?

No sign of issue #2 for me, my first subs issue. Had anyone else received theirs yet?

Re: *ADVERTS SPOILER ALERT* #3617 - 7th Jan 2012

Sorry, should have been more specific.

It doesn't look like John Geering reprints from the one page splash.

However, what I meant was that it is in the John Geering classic style.

May be reprints, only re-started taking DC Thomson comics after a long absence.

*ADVERTS SPOILER ALERT* #3617 - 7th Jan 2012

Postie has brought our new subs Beano this morning. Page 35, IBC, full page splash for the next issue: "Sometimes nutty ( :D )... always bananas! BANANAMAN starting next week in The Beano!" And "proper" Bananaman too - not that one out The Dandy these days. Ooer, is this a sign we're nearing the end...

Re: Issue Zero is here...

Ooh, got ours too! My son will be pleased when he gets in from school as he's been looking forward to it (getting the promotional emails helps whet his appetite). Looks very sleek, very DFC (a good thing). Let's hope it does rise and survive for some time. Also, they sent me two issue zeros, so mayb...

Re: This week's issue Take 2

Yeh, sorry again, as I said on my mistakenly created other thread, I thought maybe we'd be the same here as over on 2000ad forums where they discuss the latest prog on the Saturday when subs start arriving. And now I know why I don't have a clue what skyromie is on about - I just ignored all that ru...

Re: This week's issue #3614

Officially (and in the shops), The Beano comes out on a Wednesday, so the issue you speak of is next week's. Receiving them early is a subscriber perk. And yeah, that is one idiotic layout. BSK should've been on a different double page spread, and the poster shouldn't have had a story on the revers...

Re: This week's issue Take 2

Sorry I didn't realise there was an ongoing thread for "this week's issue" so I'll just repost my musing here. And yes, I do mean THIS week's issue #3614, 3rd Dec 2011 as since it arrived this morning (for me) it is no longer NEXT week's issue  Or is there some kind of rule that means I can't ...

Re: This week's issue #3614

Erm, yes, I subscribe and it arrived today, so I make that this week's issue.

Also I call it issue #3614 in the subject and then tell you the date of the issue in my post.

This week's issue #3614

Oh dear, an epic fail in this weeks issue, 3rd Dec 2011.... To enjoy BSK at their finest one must first remove the centre 4 pages as this looks like adverts that are obscuring the usual double page spread - ie , page 17 - Lego Harry Potter game ad , pages 18/19 - Happy Feet Two movie "poster" (thoug...

Re: The Phoenix issue zero

Mind you, I subbed at £99 and have had no email detailing my payment, and no sign of the money coming off my available balance in my bank account - I'm definitely sure I followed the subs procedure all the way through, hey I ain't no novice at buying stuff online LOL! Waiting to hear back from someo...

Re: The Phoenix issue zero

Aha! Many thanks! I do notice on the drop down box for the free issue that it DOES let you select "free issue + subscription (of various length)". Not on the main subscription page though, I still reckon it would have been an idea to let those who were actually wanting to subscribe be able to get is...

The Phoenix issue zero

So, as well as having no comic shops near me, there is also no Waitrose near me either, so I can't get the code for the free issue zero of The Phoenix. https://www.thephoenixcomic.co.uk/waitrose/ Can anyone furnish me with the code? The website says this "waitrose weekend" mag is out today. Mind you...

Re: eBay embellisher

My main gripe was that he said "no rips...no marks...no folds..." and the comic had all three of these things, he obviously copied and pasted his description style throughout his auctions. Nothing wrong with that but he clearly forgot to look closer at this item and then when I complained he decided...

Felt I had no choice but to open a case as his refund wasn't forthcoming, fifty minutes later lo and behold: "Refund information: The seller has offered a partial refund of £8.35. Seller's note: 'It is a shame that novice Ebayer is treated in this manner. To my understanding the matter was closed as...

Re: eBay embellisher

Hmm, for someone who said to me that he "did not appreciate the analysing of my other listings which you have resorted to.." I notice he has added some detail to the Frankie Stein listing. "these are in good condition ( small ragg tears only) " so a bit of a climbdown from very good (maybe excellent...
