Re: eBay embellisher

LOL, I know, I know, I kick myself again!

I did actually say to him "I really believe the comic is not worth much more than £4.00 (and I feel I am being generous here)". I was willing to let it go there, but his attitude just stank after that.

Re: eBay embellisher

I did kick myself for not studying the photo enough, especially considering his other items - he said to me he is just clearing his loft but he has at least tried to gen up on some of the terminology (I had never heard about "foxing" before I started looking into getting some old comics a decade ago...

Re: eBay embellisher

I thought about just returning it, but ebay and paypal are annoyingly clear that it is me who should send it back, and by a trackable system, and that sellers are not obligated to pay any return postage, even for misrepresented items, so I would have been £3 or so out of pocket on that! Of course if...

eBay embellisher

Thought you might like to hear about some trouble I've had with an eBay embellisher. Now I don't consider myself a serious collector by any means, I have some comic boxes and a few plastic wallets sure, but for the most part I've got a lot of old comics so my sons can enjoy them when they feel ready...

Re: Strip Magazine - Who's buy the first issue?

Dearie me, why is it so damn hard to buy this comic! I really want to buy it. I do not have a comic shop anywhere near me. I can't see any links to buy it anywhere from the official website or the blogspot - the comic shops links listed don't carry any mention of being able to buy Strip Magazine. I ...

Re: STRIP Magazine subscription

Anyone got one? I've tried the web page but no luck. I have also just tried to subscribe via the route here: http://www.printmediaproductions.com/default.asp Pressing the subscribe button does nothing. I don't have any comic shops near me, am I to be forced to buy the first issue at some inflated r...

Re: Strip Magazine - Who's buy the first issue?

ME! I'm in! Got my 5yo in too, yet I think maybe the stories are a bit too old for him.

Never mind though, will do for when there's no more UK comics ever produced

And I really hope I do mean that sarcastically!

Re: ABCs for Jan-Jun 2011 - disappointing results...

Apparently the advent of Commando's digital distribution and the publicity and "events" surrrounding it's 50th birthday have seen sales rise. The Dandy should take several leaves out of their book for the 75th birthday. Maybe each issue could reprint a strip from it's corresponding issue in the fir...

Re: Comic DVDs on eBay

What's the point? All you're doing is stopping people being able to buy comics that haven't been published for the last 30 or more years. DCT have no interest it seems in publishing them, so there not protecting their copyright. There's virtually no money in them either, hence the closure of Classi...

Re: Comic DVDs on eBay

Report them to Ebay citing copyright infringement and Ebay will quickly take action. DCT doesn't seem to mind one way or the other, but that could change if DCT decide to market their archive in an online format. Just did so, saying that the listing was claiming Red Dagger was public domain when it...

Re: Free Dandy in The Sunday Post

The Dandy seems to be the first of a series of trial magazines. This week they're giving away a copy of women's magazine My Weekly. It's all part of a sales push to try and grab NotW readers. The Sunday Post also has a new colour section which includes two pages of Beano and Dandy material from rec...

Re: Free Dandy in The Sunday Post

Paying my papers today (get The Sunday Post delivered anyway - AND had to remind him again it was half price this week!). He did tell me he got about an extra dozen free Dandy's in over the amount of Sunday Posts he gets, so maybe they were firing a lot more promo copies out than they produced Sunda...

Re: DFC story conclusions....?

I saw from the (archive) site the Monkey Nuts pages, and a lot of Spider Moon pages. Will probably buy those depending on how my boy feels about the sudden endings when they come. I see that John Blake "vanished into the mist", are/were there any more episodes planned? No spoilers please of course!!!
