But would you pay it?

Re: Ebay - you want how much for it???

In all honesty, if you knocked off the final figure, it would still be a struggle to sell. Which is very disappointing but it's supply-and-demand.

Re: Ebay - you want how much for it???

Did youask for a discount due to a name in pencil on the front  I picked up a virtually complete collection along with a load of Terrifics from Arthur's in Glasgow (some of our older readers may remember that Western-obsessed man). Probably about £20 or something for the lot. After all, it was ...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

And I continued to expand my collection of comics from around the world when a very nice Finn send me four copies of Korkeajännitys aka High Voltage. Now all I need is Starscape to find me a copy of one of the Middle East ones and then I have at least examples of each of the known licensed versions...

Re: Comics on TV

The Kirkman series is supposed to be great. In the US, it's on after the Walking Dead. However, to get AMC, you have to have the BT Sport package. Although I have this, it's through a third-party, so don't get access to AMC (which only had Fear The Walking Dead and a whole loadof rubbish).

Re: What comics did you buy today?

The 1/6d Warrior doesn't ring any bells, I'm afraid, and there's no listing in the Guide. But as Colin and I and some of you are aware, there are many omissions in the British Guide, and also, Micron and the other company names produced a fair number of titles that seem to have passed us all by. No...

Re: Just a comment

I've been re-reading The Seven Soldiers of Victory, or, Law's Legionnaires, from the GA - sorry starscape I know how you feel about GA heroes and comics. https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-icQM-FCslns/WFlkpL81lcI/AAAAAAAAYhM/bJvr8-dplzsSUbnuKCuJOkQemOHxBSK1QCLcB/s320/comic030e.JPG https://2.bp.blogs...

Re: Just a comment

That's a ridiculous spoiler by the way. There's no way anyone could stop themselves in time from reading the words after it. I'd suggest editing it out. US comics have completely lost me. I'd love to have a regular one but they kept the characters names but changed the character. As if I'm that stup...

Re: What comics or comic related Christmas presents did you

Sandman is Kirby/Simon, so not the original. However, it is from 1942, so still pretty out-of-date for a mid-70s kids comic. Even if you were a fan of the Sandman around that time, chances are it would be the completely different one that Kirby had come up with a couple of years or so earlier. https...

Re: What comics or comic related Christmas presents did you

I'm a bit of a collector of Treasury Editions. This year I got DC's Christmas with the Super-Heroes. A bit weird. The Marvel ones are full of great stories, usually with a slightly odd one. But this is all 1940s, including the golden-age Sandman not see for years, apart from a Neal Adams Batman. The...

Re: The longest running comics that have never been renumber

Digest-sized comics for me. Same as Archie and the rest. Also, Spider-Man is a different size to most British comics of yesteryear and only one story. Golden Age comics, e.g. All-American Comics, another size too. But you'd be hard-pressed not to call them comics.

Re: Ebay sales: Good price for the seller, buyer or both??

Not atall. 300-700 were huge sellers with some great stories of famous characters and classic writers. 700 to about 900 was poor. And collecting isn't just about how much they can be sold for.

I still need 13 in the 4000s but Nairn is a bit far for me sadly!
Unfortunately it's not open Sunday and I'm away before Monday. However it was Sue Ryder so you could write to them at that price.
