Re: The strips that deserted the sinking ship.

I think Nutty was in control of funny bone but I'm not too sure, he didn't last too long. Also, some more stories that 'deserted the sinking ship' to the Dandy include Blubba and Bear, Cuddles (joining Dimples), The Cannonball Kid (renamed 'Owen Goal'), Peter Pest, and The Snobbs and the Slobbs, Sp...

Who think's Hunt Emerson's Fred's Bed was rubbish

Fred was made irritating, the stories were boring and there was no wacky humour like when David Parkins drew it. Thank goodness the editor came to his senses and got David Sutherland to do it. It was much funnier from then on.

Re: A way to stop the bad sales

How sad would you be if the dandy ended? But let's not be pessimistic here, eh?

Re: The strips that deserted the sinking ship.

In the early 1990s beezer annuals there seems to be a numskull called "Nutty." What was that about?

I would rather we would be talking about ways to boost the sales, rather than people in the staff. Ok?

Re: The strips that deserted the sinking ship.

Also never knew that Ali's Baba was also in the Dandy! However I heard about a strip that sounded similar, Jimmy's Green Genie. Was that Ali's Baba recoloured and things? - The Numskulls was completely changed with 'Our Man' changing to a boy called 'Edd' and 'Luggy' being renamed 'Radar', 'Nosey' ...

Re: Number 13 and The Germs return in the bigger 36 page Bea

Actually, he was picked, then his mum cast a spell on him and he had 8 legs, just before the match! But he scored a hat-trick cos the other team's players was too scared when they looked at his mum!

Re: The strips that deserted the sinking ship.

Ah, i forgot about Willy Nilly! Must have been because it was only in it once. The girl in the Banana Bunch was called mitzy. I never knew Laura Howell drew Fred's Bed, when about? Also, our man was already a boy three years before The Numskulls moved to the beano. About Gordon Bennett, i've only s...
