Re: Cataloguing Comics
Thanks Folks It looks as if Excel is the way forward at least to start with. I'll have to work out suitable bribes to get my Office Manager to design it for me as I'm useless on Excel and she's brilliant! I think I may need to see a "specialist" regarding my comic collecting over the last decade as ...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Not so much comics but books on comics. I've just received Boys will be Boys by ES Turner and The War Libraries by Steve Holland and David Roach. Both look very interesting and hopefully a good source for reference.

Re: Cataloguing Comics
Not very fancy, but I just keep excel records, I don't know how much detail you want to keep but if it's simply as a quick reference to check which issues you have its a starting point. Thanks for that, I don't need much detail, just comic, date/issue #, whether the free gift is present and conditi...

Cataloguing Comics
I've been rummaging through my collection recently and realised that it's out of control as I really don't know exactly what I have and when I found 6 x some issues, I realised that I need to have a clear out to raise some cash for future purchases and I also need to record the thousands of comics ...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
1, 2 and 3 of Surface Tension by Jay Gunn. Looks a great story and will hopefully keep me happy on the train to London tomorrow. I have no idea how long it has been since I bought a comic that has only just come out but I read a preview and had the 'urge'! It's excellent. One of the best British co...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Hi, Lew, nice sale for your Cheeky issue one with free gift. I have the same issue with free gift and will never sell. At what point on given issue do you think: I ain't selling this regardless of any money offered. To elaborate - when does your collection become a commodity? Do you have one? Perso...

Re: Asterix Latest Book
I grew up reading the Asterix books in the 70s and probably haven't seen one since! I'd never heard of Iznogoud but after seeing the books on this link, I think I may be having a look around for both now!

Re: Please help me identify this Whizzer and Chips comic
Which year - or, indeed, decade -were you likely to have got it? There was just one Winter Special, in 1989, otherwise it was probably a Holiday Special released in Summertime. You can check the covers of the Whizzer and Chips specials in the Gallery section here, to see if any ring a bell: http://...

Re: School-Days comic for girls by Amalgamated Press 1928
Does anyone know anything about the comic? How long did it run for? According to Old Boys Books - A Complete Catalogue by Lofts and Adley, Adam, School-Days ended with issue 131 (May 2 1931), at which point it was amalgamated into The Schoolgirl . I have quite a few issues of this title, which star...

School-Days comic for girls by Amalgamated Press 1928
I've just acquired a bound volume of the first 12 issues of the above "New paper for schoolgirls" from 1928 and I can't seem to find much information on the web. Does anyone know anything about the comic? How long did it run for? The only thing I could find was on Compal from 8 and 15 years ago sayi...

Re: Film Fun comic 1
I'm still anxioius to know what Film Fun 1 went for but so far that info is not forthcoming. I finally unearthed my box of free gifts yesterday so will be able to put a complete run of Hoot on ebay with all free gifts. I'm thinking of a starting price of £150. Is that reasonable? I paid £155 for Fi...
