Re: Reprinted stories in Princess Mk.2

If you're interested Comixminx I did pick up an extra Stefa page you're welcome to have for the price it cost me (though I'm not sure how much the postage would be as it's on stiff board and quite large). I'll scan it so you can see when I get chance. Wow! A generous offer Phil and I do love Townse...

Very jealous at the idea of being able to buy lovely Phil Townsend work! Good for you.

Re: 2000AD - Why Never a DCT equivalent?

[/img] All this talk of Starblazer has compelled me to dig out the old copies. The artwork is very much of its' period: fussy and fanciful and quirky---and nowt wrong with that! Here is an excerpt from issue 32 from 198...

Re: Battle picture weekly - Terror Behind the Bamboo curtain

For Battle-Action's 200th edition, an additional series complemented not only the usual quota of seven strips but also occupied the colour centre pages, demoting "Crazy Keller" for a few months. "True-Life Heroes" depicted personal accounts of honour and valour during both world wars. Several serie...

Re: Comic or book finds, or should I say finds in comics or

Get it home and looked at the writing on the first page only to discover the inscription was from my nan to my mother. Where it had been for 30 years before it made its way back to my family I'll never know, but... Happy days indeed. What a fantastic find. Being from your Nan to your Mum makes the ...

You have got a lot of good and interesting stuff on your plate, Derek! Good luck with keeping it moving, I know what you mean about needing to stop reading and start writing, at some point.

Re: Shirley the Shadow

Yes, it did come up in discussion didn't it! I will have to go back and search - in fact I would have thought it was on Lorraine's site but she would have remembered if so... :) Anyway the artist is the fantastic Manuel Cuyas, who only appeared in a Jinty annual (a reprint from an earlier title).

Re: D.C. Thomson launch new mag for girls

My kids are in the right sort of age range for this but the eldest is already a keen Phoenix reader and I think would be not very interested in something that didn't have a good lot of story included. She is very keen on free gifts though! :) I must say that even the Laura Howells strip is not enoug...

Re: Phoenix's Future Plans

This morning, purely out of curiosity, I counted up the number of issues of the eleven story titles for girls whose serial content I will be presenting in my next book. The total is 7619. By no means as many serials though, fortunately. At least I have already completed the listings for Judy and Ma...

Re: Rebellion reveal their plans for classic Fleetway charac

I don't think two collections a month is realistic, Bri - there's a lot of work in just scanning the art and cleaning it up, because they need to scan from printed copies in most cases / the vast majority of cases. But as you say, I hope they keep the pace up as much as possible, of course!

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Bought 9 or 10 issues of Jinty from 1980 (via 30th Century Comics) that should fill all the gaps I have for that year! Will be very nice to see them when they arrive this coming week... :)

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Got a copy of "Troy Trailblazer and the Horde Queen" to give to my kid's school library (review here http://forbiddenplanet.blog/2015/review ... ailblazer/). My kid dressed up as Jess Jetrider for World Book Day last week, it was a very successful costume.
