Re: What comics do you read on a regular basis?
I love the Ultimate Spider-man series. So much so that I wait and buy the compiled hardbacked volumes rather than the individual comics themselves. To tell the truth I prefer that to the regular Spider-man with whom I got a bit lost after the Civil War caper (first he was on the run with his identit...

What comics do you read on a regular basis?
Even in my 40s, I still love comics. The ones I read regularly are:
2000AD
Judge Dredd Megazine
Dandy Extreme
Spaceship Away
All great in their way.

Re: Cuddles and Dimples' Mum
Back to Cuddles and Dimples' Mum (are they brothers now?), I for one think she is far sexier than Lara Croft (actually Lara didn't do anything for me). Obviously Dad has something going for him (apart from a bulging belly, bald head and a face you would want to put a paperbag over).

Issue numbers - Beano is only five behind Dandy
Being geeky here but there is only about 11 weeks before the Beano will take over from the Dandy as the longest running weekly (issues wise at least).
Will this go unnotice I wonder?

Re: DANDY SUMMER SPECIAL
I had a hard time finding mine. Of all places, I found it in a newsagent just down the road from a mate's house up in Stockport.
I liked it. Expensive? Possibly but then so is everything nowadays. But I did like the comics - especially Korky the Cat. Good to see him.

Re: Beezer & Topper Relaunch!
I like the "new" Beezer and Topper. :D Me? I used to love the Valiants and Lions of the 70s. I think it's a shame that it took DC to aquire the rights, aim them for an more mature market and publish Albion (enjoyed it though). I'm sure we could have that ourselves and now have weekly/monthly on the ...

Re: Dandy 2008
I'm just glad that the Dandy is slowly reverting back to being a comic (rather than a magazine with a comic pull-out section). I like the new Desperate Dan (though like Lew, I do miss the Dudley Watkins' version). Now provided the comic still continues as a fortnightly, I am just waiting to see the ...

Re: Is anyone still reading 2000AD?
Apart from a brief period, I have been getting 2000AD every week since February 1977 and I still love it (that and Judge Dredd Megazine ). :D Dredd just keeps going and going and his Origins saga last year was pure genius (though I wonder if they could have done more with Fargo after bringing him ba...

No proper Christmas issue?
Did the Dandy Xtreme have a Christmas issue this year? Apart from the odd blob of snow(?) on one of the December front covers, I wasn't too sure. As far as the strips were concerned, Christmas was celebrated by some in both issues. Not like the Beano's contribution which was really good. Hopefully t...

70 years of Desperate Dan
Merry Christmas! As to regards to Desperate Dan , I have to agree with other people here in that I do prefer the Dudley Watkins strips (sorry, Ken). Each panel has so much detail and coloring them is a very nice touch. Regarding Dan being in every issue, I would love him to continue doing that but l...

Newsflash! The Dandy goes... Xtreme!
Please excuse my ignorance, but I assume that this revamp has occured because DC Thomson is trying to save The Dandy from folding due to poor sales. If that is the case, then I applaud them for trying their best to save it. And from what I can gather, this has not been their only attempt.

Brilliant!
Not being a particular bright individual, it took me ages to realise that Vulcan was a reprint comic.
But I must say, it has been (IMHO) that it has been the best reprint publication before and since its rise and fall.

View while you can!
I got all 15 issues when they came out and I loved them.
It was a pity it never continued. IMHO, it could have been a second 2000AD.

Is anyone still reading 2000AD?
Apart from a 6-month hiatus (newsagent where I got the comic from went out of business and it took me a while to go to mail order), I have been reading 2000AD since February 1977. Yes, there have been highs and lows (mainly highs) but there is no way I could do without my weekly fix of Dredd and co....
