Five go off to camp Annual - artist unknown

I visited the interesting Seven Stories in Newcastle the other day whilst on holiday and they had a nice display of Enid Blyton material including original art, letters, photos etc etc. One feature left me puzzled. These pictures show two pages from "Five Go Off To Camp Annual" 1984 published by Pur...

Re: Flook by Trog facebook page

Earlier this year I did an interview with Wally Fawkes, and it's now on The Comics Journal! http://www.tcj.com/looking-back-at-flook-an-interview-with-wally-fawkes/ Great interview Adam. It's so sad when our artists are underrated. Well done! Did you know there's an article (I have rough photos of ...

Re: The Beano from the week you was born.

Finally managed to track down my birthday week issue :D (I'm 18th July, by the way) **GULP!**I had two kids by 1985! I remember an article in the late Comic Book Marketplace (USA) where someone wrote about collecting all the comics they could for their month of their birth (remember this was Americ...

Nikki comic - Friday 13th

I didn't encounter Nikki the comic but thought some of you might be interested in this strip posted by the artist Sean Phillips on his website . Click the link to see larger versions Phillips says "Friday 13th, drawn in 1987 while I was still at college, but not published until 1988 in Nikki comic."...

Excellent! Your sterling research into the tangled subject of 'Frogart' is truly invaluable Matrix! - Phil Rushton I'm in awe of anyone who spotted those few strokes in the sand as Lupatelli! Fantastic work...oh and by the way, I love the fact we care ....even after all this time. I keep hearing th...

Re: What was inside Playhour pictures...? Playhour chat

I just wanted express my thanks Phil for your shared collection and knowledge. I love seeing these things now in my old age of 55. A more innocent time in many ways, the poor little people now are bombarded by licensed characters - see what they're missing!

Re: Thunderbirds return in reprint collections

Short version is etch your copper plate so that the darkest areas for that colour are deepest, fill with ink, wipe the top clean, and print onto paper. The Wikipedia page explains how they etch the plate. That's a very simple answer and understandable, thanks. Now go further - if no-one minds - and...

Re: Thunderbirds return in reprint collections

I hope the Egmont Thunderbirds books do well, but I can't help feeling that a) the majority of interested parties will have already bought the recent large-format books (which reprinted most of the best 60s material) and b) whilst the standard size will be ideal for the Countdown reprints and 1990s...

Re: Thunderbirds return in reprint collections

The TV21 strips were reprinted in the 80s I think in square spined albums on glossy paper, Stingray too. They were available for a few years afterwards in remainder shops. And there were Thunderbirds and Stingray Summer Specials in the 80s or 90s. My memory of the dates is very vague but I think th...

Re: Leslie Caswell

Unfortunately I have no idea what settings I use as I am not that knowledgeable when it comes to computers. I just have a cheap HP printer. It does have a brightness and contrast setting to make the image brighter and sharper. I suppose i could right click on the image and look at the "properties" ...

Beautifully scanned. Would you mind sharing what settings you used as I found them hard work because of the way they're reproduced? Thanks for sharing
