Quite a bit of Warlord was parachuted in too. That's both the comic and the character!

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Well, I went to the local auction house and got blown out of the water by the bids so I checked the back room and found a rather nice pile of 8 Eagle and Battles, Roy Of The Rovers with the Wildcat pullout comic still within, 2 Summer Specials, 3 Wizards, 1 Champ, Two Roy Of The Rovers monthlies and...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

I am loving the composition of the covers for the two later ones. Seeing covers like that makes you understand why some people perceive some comics as jingoistic and supportive of war as they certainly do nothing to dissuade anyone from a life in the military.

Re: 'Monster Annual for Girls' - Possible Plagiarism

Hi Adam, in my own research down different strands of comics, I have found some images being used by different companies. This is due to the artist or their agent only selling a single shot license to the company that produced the annual/comic. This allowed the agent or artist to resell the image to...

Re: Micron Combat Library

The Micron collection is building slowly but surely. Now that I have almost completed my run of Commando (only 3 to go so if anyone has 370, 458 or 4193 for a swap, I am very interested!), I am sure that I will find another rabbit hole to go down. I even picked up my very first Micron Romance Pictur...

Re: Micron Combat Library

Doug made the suggestion that I contact the Commando and British Weekly Comics group to see if anyone else had information on the Combat Library and Boy! Did that pay off! First up James Connolly advised that he is also a collector of these and has managed to put together a list of all but 8 of the ...

Old Independence

On a quest folks.

David Motton says he wrote a story about a Dakota called Old Independence and that it was published in Warlord. Now, I can't for the life find it and I wonder if anyone else can recall this story or where it might be found?

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Just going through the comics I picked up from the Swapmeet and I find that I have doubled my colection of Micron Combat Library by picking up Issue 70. Looking around the interweb thingy and I find that these text libraries lasted to at least issue 76. The one other fact I can add from the indicia...

Re: British Comic Swapmeet 28th September

For any one interested, March 2020 will be in Glasgow. Swapmeet 5 means that I now only need four issues to complete my run of Commando to date. The lowest issue is 370 and the highest is 4193. There's also very early provisional talk of the #7 one being in Banbury, Oxfordshire in July 2020 I'll be...
