Old Independence

On a quest folks.

David Motton says he wrote a story about a Dakota called Old Independence and that it was published in Warlord. Now, I can't for the life find it and I wonder if anyone else can recall this story or where it might be found?

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Just going through the comics I picked up from the Swapmeet and I find that I have doubled my colection of Micron Combat Library by picking up Issue 70. Looking around the interweb thingy and I find that these text libraries lasted to at least issue 76. The one other fact I can add from the indicia...

Re: British Comic Swapmeet 28th September

For any one interested, March 2020 will be in Glasgow. Swapmeet 5 means that I now only need four issues to complete my run of Commando to date. The lowest issue is 370 and the highest is 4193. There's also very early provisional talk of the #7 one being in Banbury, Oxfordshire in July 2020 I'll be...

Re: British Comic Swapmeet 28th September

Well it was a grand day out. Spent ages chatting with one and all. It was so nice to actually meet some of the people I have been chatting to over the years through social media and over the phone. Kudos to Bruce Scott for organising a gret day out and thanks to Steve "Action Man" MacManus", Mike Do...

Re: British Comic Swapmeet 28th September

Twelve tables have gone already, but Bruce will be able to sneak another one in. Guests are Steve MacManus, Alan Hebden, James Nicholas (son of Barrie Tomlinson and a writer to boot) and Mike Dorey.

Come along for a good old chinwag, a nice brew and loads of British comics for sale/swapping.

Re: What comics did you buy today?

An extra copy of Commando 5255, Beano 4000 and 12 below the line issues of Combat Picture Library. Some are so early they have the GMS mastheads instead of the Micron masthead.

Re: RIP Nigel Dobbyn

This has really shocked me. I was lucky enough to meet Nigel at Moniaive and he was lovely to chat with and he was happy to pass on his knowledge with a comics narrative seminar that he did for the attendees. I basked in his praise at my understanding of how the picture can drive forward the narrati...
