Re: Phoenix's Future Plans

This is a request for information on some of the content of some issues of MANDY in 1975, 1976, and 1979. I really just need to know the starting and/or finishing details of any serials that start or end in the following issues:- 457 : 459 : 462 to 467, 469 to 476 : 478 to 480 : 482 to 486 : 488 : 4...

Re: Commando Announcement

I think Digi was referring to those Thomson girls titles that had a picture library associated with them Derek, namely Bunty, Judy, and Debbie. I've just been upstairs to my second bedroom, Ray, which is so full of boxes that for the time being I have no idea where my collections of DEBBIE Picture ...

Re: Commando Announcement

I think Digi was referring to those Thomson girls titles that had a picture library associated with them Derek, namely Bunty, Judy and Debbie. Well I'm undecided, Ray, as to whether to place 100% of the blame on Digi for a lack of clarity, or on myself due to not having fully recovered from the alc...

Sorry to have to tell you this, Steve, but you've been seriously overcharged for that book.

Re: Phoenix's Future Plans

Apparently we are all going out for a meal tonight to celebrate Lois's thirteenth birthday. As she is seriously into Harry Potter, from a local bric-a-brac shop I bought her three longish planks of wood, two of which had the words already painted on them. On one of them was painted the word HOGWARTS...

Re: Phoenix's Future Plans

One thing I forgot to mention about my London trip was that on a visit to Bocketts Farm, Andrew, Aurora, Kelsey, and I watched a pig race. I've never seen anything like it in my life. There were five pigs, and they had to run one lap. Their names were Voldesnort, Justin Bieboar, Beyoinkse, Piggy Sta...

Re: Phoenix's Future Plans

Just a piece of additional information on Edward Marston's output, or to put it another way, verbal diarrhoea. According to the biographical blurb, he has been a full-time writer for over forty years, and is a former chairman of the Crime Writers' Association. He has produced 52 novels across six se...

Re: Phoenix's Future Plans

It was certainly a future plan on July 24th, as I went to London on the 25th to spend a week with Andrew. I only got back by train at 6.15 this evening, which explains why I haven't posted any comments recently. Having read this evening the contributions made during my absence, there aren't any to w...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Got one of the better Dandy Beano reprint books from today's car boot sale. DANDY BEANO Great stories from the first 50 years, well worth the pound I paid. You can't be accused of hanging about there, abacus, can you? I just checked my copy, and it only came out in 1990. I might read it when I come...

Re: Phoenix's Future Plans

I might get some clarity tomorrow when my issue of The Guardian and I go to the White Hart for my leisurely lunchtime pint because Karen, one of the barmaids, used to moonlight regularly in the Copperhouse. Karen wasn't absolutely certain but she thought that the Copperhouse got shut down because t...

I get the impression that this thread is going nowhere, although on the other hand, I would be delighted to learn that I am wrong.
