Re: Comic Idol returns

Meebo And Zuky are most interesting for me. It looks modern but it has a nice classic feel. The hoover picture in this week's issue is probably the wildest thing I've seen in the Beano. Very funny. Home Invasion is quite different in that it seems to have a touch of a serial about it. Si Co is the o...

Re: Bloopers

They should've proof read the Barrie Appleby article. It refers to Kojack and Slojack. Neither should have a C. I liked the joke used in the same answer though - "That was another Cracker of a strip". I think the Cuddles page in the Barry Appleby section was actually drawn by Steve Bright. And Spot...

Re: Bloopers

They also said on the contents page "Doctor Who audio games " competition - it should be audio books , and is named as such on the front cover and the actual competition page. Even that isn't quite right really though, since they're full cast dramas. :offtopic1: Doesn't one of the Dr Who audio writ...

Except that it's not all-new. At least I don't think it is. A couple of the lads in the class I teach were saying that they'd seen some of the stories before.

Re: Guess who's back...

Well if the friends reunited deal goes tits up then maybe they would have been better investing in their publications rather than a website that was only worth a fraction of what ITV paid for it a few years ago and now comes with an almighty pain in the arse. DC Thomson can have any other advice th...

Re: Who was the best artist for each character?

I don't bother with the Dandy anymore but from memory... Desperate Dan - I prefer Ken Harrison to Dudley Watkins. Much easier on the eye, always easy to follow and my kids prefer Ken Harrison to Watkins as well which is probably more important. Heresy perhaps, but it's the way we feel. I can't stand...

Cor, so did I.
Well, you would, wouldn't you?
My memory might be a bit addled but I have a vague recollection of a big wedding illustration with Dan and Little Bear getting married. It was a summer special or an annual.

Re: Beano website makeover

They've added an article about how they came up with this week's Ratz and Snooty scripts. The Snooty one seems iffy though, have they forgotten the time the original Snooty and his pals were all seen eating toffee sculptures of themselves? Lord Snooty came out of a story one of our writers here in ...

Re: Beano website makeover

I just took a look at the new website. Interesting to see that they're posting about what's going on in the office. It's fascinating to hear about how they work in the Beano office. Some silly nice posts about wasps and football as well. I like it.

Re: Reprints in the Beano

My daughter's favourite thing in the Beano right now is Rasher. She reads it over and over. She loves it. Better start finding her another strip to follow! Hint: not Bea and Ivy either! Oh dear. That's very disappointing. I'm very fond of Rasher too. Anything else disappearing that I should prepare...

Re: MY LEAST FAVOURITE CURRENT COMIC ARTIST

I don't much like Barry Glennard or Dave Eastbury's pages in the Beano. Eastbury is very static and looks like he should be drawing for a toddlers comic. Glennard's Numskulls just look bland to me. We don't get the Dandy anymore - I stopped buying it for my children when they did a magazine-style pa...
