Re: Beano Story at The Works

I saw it in loads of shops Digi WHSmiths Waterstones and all them were quite fully supplied were Im from in Yorkshire, and yeah that was a sort of silly wish after commenting on how its unlikely to happen! Shame! Your right about being enough quality material ISPY but its a question of there being e...

Re: Beano Story at The Works

I am surprised that so many of you don't have this book. Its everything a comic collecting nutcase could wish for and with the price falling then i'd snap em up if I did not already have them! Am I wrong in thinking that when a book gets as far as 'The Works' then its all the copies they could not o...

Re: CLiNT: New newsstand comic from Mark Millar/Titan!

I bought it, read it and loved it. Jonothan Ross's's's's comic was a bit of a slog very wordy, when you create a comic theres no real need to be so descriptive as we can all see whats going on, leave that to your artist. It did have some cracking bits though having said that. Kick Ass 2 was as great...

The Beano when I was a kid, although I still collect the odd issue I collect The Viz and have done non stop for longer than the period I collected The Beano for.

Re: Do violent computer games cause behavior problems?

No they don't. With a video game you are actually committing any act of violence you may wish to do and therefore your urge for that particular act of violence is instantly satisfied. They do not serve as a demonstration as you are the one in control of whatever scenario the character is in. Books, ...

Re: Sherlock

With 7million viewers I am pretty sure the Beeb will make it happen! SM managed to get his act together to produce three 90 minute long episodes alongside Mark Gattis so if he took a similar role as RTD did on Sarah Jane or Torchwood and the series of other bits and bobs (I don't know what time scal...

Re: Sherlock

I loved it! It was great, looking forward to seeing the other two. Its nice to see something that remains true to the original text but still adds a fresh layer to make something very watchable. The music and certain parts of the story kept it very grounded to the books (although the music isn't fro...

Re: DFC To Be Relaunched?

Cheers Jamie, I wouldn't have expected you to have kept any of the rights in all honesty let alone get rich of it! I'm struggling to get some creative work done and the last thing I would expect from it is to living in a mansion at the end of it! Best I can expect is to end up in a mental hospital. ...

Re: DFC To Be Relaunched?

Jamie Smarts 'Fishhead Steve' is being made into an animated television show. The pilot (I assume) is being shown at this years Cartoon Forum where it will be pitched to buyers and distributers and whathaveyou. I don't know if the DFC people have the rights to this or if Jamie Smart will be buying a...

Re: 2011 Annual Covers

Not a massive fan of the Beano cover. Don't get me wrong its lovely and well drawn but I preferred the David Parkins stuff, The Loch Ness monster cover was fantastic. I also hope that there is a 'after' picture on the back cover

Re: 2011 Annual Covers

I strongly doubt they will be dummy covers. They will be a load of them stocked up in a warehouse now. When I visited the offices Alan Digby showed me that they have them in the warehouse ages in advance on some sort of rotation system. I'm sure the artists will vouch that the artwork in them was do...

Re: Striker finally has a proper replacement!

I wonder if this means the end for W&G in BeanoMax? The SUN is more like a comic than a newspaper, maybe that's why I read it [if it's lying around] Well both the Sun and BeanoMAX currently publish fiction AND Wallace and Gromit comics, perhaps the Sun has found its level! Maybe the BeanoMAX will s...
