Re: What comics did you buy today?

Rebellion's Smash! came through the post yesterday. Absolutely brilliant with my favourites being practically all of them (sorry, I didn't like the artwork for Mytek the Mighty). Interesting that they decided to use Smash! as the title and not Knockout or Lion or Valiant or Lion and Valiant even. I ...

Re: Comics - What is Your Favourite Moment or Memory?

In the 50's most of my comics were delivered with the morning newspapers and I eagerly awaited their arrival on the allotted days of the week.At that time new comics were well advertised in advance and I remember getting the first copies of Lion, Tiger, TV Fun etc.One memory that remains was the is...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Got the latest summer specials of The Dandy and Beano from the DCT shop (shops being closed).

Great reads especially The Dandy which has some all-new strips in it. Will miss Ken Harrison drawing Desperate Dan though.

Re: Your Favourite Time for Having Comics

Mine was Christmas mornings without fail. All of us would get an annual and the explosion of reading material in the house each year just could not be beaten. Ahh yes. That was good time as well. Waking up in the early hours of Christmas Day morning and diving into my pillowcase at the bottom of my...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

I am not sure that I liked it Thank SID, funny you say that as I looked at some images online and read more about the strips and it didn’t jump out at me at all. Maybe I’m just too old school! I understand what you are saying, Adam. But there are a few promising strips and it is early days so... :x...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Ordered The77 . I’ll be interested to know what you think of it. I may order it myself. Will post something once I get it. If I like it, I will get it regularly. I got my copies of The77 the other day and I'm going to be honest, I am not sure that I like it. The print quality of the mag is very goo...

Re: Help needed, please !!!

Your name of it Taffie is a clue of sort. It could be a reprint of Tuffy, A Boy All Alone. The synopsis is basically a kid who is orphaned but is a keen footballer and a high performing academic who wants to make it to college but orphaned and left with an uncaring aunt/uncle(?) who only see him as...

Re: Your FIRST Ever Favourite Comic Character/Strip

I have a few.

However; my first ever favourite comic character/strip was Black Bob - The Dandy Wonder Dog.

It was my favourite strip of the late 60s/& 70s when I started reading The Dandy and I still love it (enough to make me collect all of his annuals).

Your FIRST Ever Favourite Comic Character/Strip

I think that everyone here has their favourite comic character or, like me, even a few. But the question here is: What was your FIRST ever favourite comic character or strip? I don't necessarily mean a British character/strip either. For instance, it could be Mickey Mouse or Spider-man. As long that...
