Re: New Dennis TV Series

And another good episode tonight. I loved the fact that after all their efforts (Dennis, Gnasher and Dad) to get the curtain material back and cleaned, Mum had decided on something else. :D

Re: What would have been your Alternative Favourite Comic(s)?

Now I notice (and not surprisingly) that for people whose favourite comic was the Beano opted for the Dandy.

Now for those people: What if the Dandy hadn't existed as well? What DCT comedy comic would you choose? :)

Re: What would have been your Alternative Favourite Comic(s)?

Considering the caveat and the almost near 100% saturation that DCT had on my home area, I think that my alternative to Warlord would have to be Battle (even though it took me six years to find Battle existed!) As to 2000AD, my alternate was the Crunch and I did love that comic. So much so, I would...

What would have been your Alternative Favourite Comic(s)?

Wednesday morning this time. :D Here is my question: Think of your favourite comic(s) as a child/teen. Now what if they never existed but you liked comics anyhow. What comic(s) would have filled that void? It doesn't necessarily have to be your second favourite. For example: My two all-time favourit...

Re: First comic you ever read

Hmmm. Found some Bobo Bunnys for sale in eBay and I can see that even at 5 I may have preferred the likes of the Dandy. :D

First comic you ever read

A quiet evening in adding new additions to my Dandy collection and I was just wondering: "What was the first comic I remember ever reading?" Now I am not talking about the first comic I had regularly which would have been the Dandy (or was it the Beano ? I cannot remember). I mean the first comic I ...

Re: Question about the Dandy's revamp in 2004.

Well just bought a lot of 2004 Dandys from e-Bay which leads up and includes the revamp.

I must say I did like the 'classic' Dandy classic before its face-lift. :)

Thanks for that, Digifiend.

I, for one, will miss Dennis's cheeky leer (and frown for that matter). :)

Re: What Comic Would You Like Out There?

If only The Dandy hadn't gone Xtreme, we'd already have it, CC. :( Very true and I for one would love the old Dandy back. But then again the very fact that the Dandy still survives means that there are kids out there today who reads/enjoys it and isn't that the purpose of comic in the first place?

Goes back to my original suggestion in my first post (or simply bring back the Beezer revamped?).

Silly question perhaps but what issue of the Beano first sported the CBBC Dennis and Gnasher?

I just have to check 73-77, 80 and 83 which I will do tonight.
I can confirm that the other issues have I-Spy in them too.

PS Thanks. I have gotten so into IPC's adventure comics that I had forgotten how good DCT's were.

Re: What Comic Would You Like Out There?

Have DC actually purchased the old IPC characters outright or just license to use them for a specific time? Apart from a few named exceptions (like Dan Dare) they now own most of the Fleetway characters that appeared up to the end of the 1960s. I forget the exact details but I think this situation ...

I got both books last week and are brilliant. Will definitely keep buying as long as new books are printed.
