Is there anything you can point us at that is not the Bleeding Cool post, Col? Would love to see any more info that is out there.

Re: Thought Bubble in Leeds

Anyone going? I assume that some might, comixminx, if you were to tell them where the venue is, and of course when. This at least would do away with the need to stand in Boar Lane or Briggate shouting Where's The Thought Bubble? :) Hah hah! yes, fair enough. There seems to be various venues but the...

Re: Now in whs

I'm still really liking the Phoenix - we get it for the kids (well, more for the 5 year old than the 3 year old) and read it ourselves too of course. It's got a reasonable mix of regular / serial stories and one-offs, and the brilliant Jamie Smart is always very funny.

GNFAR post on Misty

You may already have seen the Halloween Special post over at Great News For All Readers - on Misty, very appropriately! It includes some lovely artwork and memories of reading the title at the time. http://www.greatnewsforallreaders.com/blog/2015/10/30/misty There is some discussion in the comments ...

Re: Name That Tune

Comixminx Sounds like the song your're thinking of is Do The Standing Still (Classics Illustrated) by The Table. A grand single from 1977, one of the first I ever bought. Verse one is a list of early-seventies Marvel monster comics while verses two and three list the titles of various Fantastic Fou...

Re: Name That Tune

I was looking for (I think) a Wire song with the song lyrics all based around EC titles like "Where Monsters Dwell" and came across a link with lots of other song references, including the mighty fine Suicide song called and about the Marvel character "Ghost Rider".

Re: Name That Tune

Anthrax have a song called "I Am The Law" about Judge Dredd - there is also a Momus song of the same name, not sure if it is a cover.

Transvision Vamp did a rather nice song called "Hanging Out With Halo Jones".

There are lots more, I will have to think further!

Re: Fanzine Archive Launched

Great stuff David! I saw the nice post about it on Down The Tubes, too. Looking forward to reading through it. In previous years I contributed to Comics Forum and The Panelhouse. I also edited the Caption zine, do you have copies of that? I can organize some for you I expect, there are still copies ...

Thank you Yekal, this is great stuff! I never knew your uncle's name or who drew what out of these strips generally, but they bring back lots of fond memories as I look at them :D

Featherweight Freddie is drawn by Robert MacGillivray as far as I can see from that snippet.

Think it's the same person - he had a brother called Pedro Quesada, and a son called Miguel Quesada who is still active, but the son is probably too young to be the Trigan Empire artist.
