Man, I want this Comic Capers book now!
I have a couple of the old Comic Capers Beanobooks, the Bananaman one being the one I read the most, which I'm guessing uses most of it content from Bananaman annuals or Specials (was there ever a 'Dandy Superstars' or any equivalent?)

Re: What theme would you like Dandy and Beano book ..cover n
The Dandy's first full colour issue presumably also happened at around the same time as the Beano's (I'd guess that said issue would be Blinky and Beryl the Peril's Dandy debuts). I do agree that other comics besides just Beano and Dandy should be covered. I'm not good with issue numbers, but the f...

Re: 'Crocodile Comics'!
The kid who says "Crumbs! He's a perishin' ....." looks just like Trotty. Eric Roberts liked recycling character designs.

Re: Longest running Beano reader & the one with the most iss
The funny thing is, I don't bother with annuals that are priced over one digit. :P At a car boot sale last year, someone was selling a copy of the 1963 Dandy annual. The condition was so-so. I opted not to buy it because it was £5, and most annuals I buy are between 0p (1982 Buster annual) and £3 (A...

Re: Full Run of Hoot
Spotted Dick is another one by Barrie Appleby I believe, and it survived the Dandy merger. I think it was confirmed somewhere that very few Spotted Dick strips were by Barrie, instead, the majority were drawn by John Aldrich, who's style was very similar to Barrie's, but not quite. I could have jus...

Re: Unusual Ghostings
Niblet, you weren't thinking of the two part strip where Bananaman tried to take over Desperate Dan's page? Part 1 and Part Two which was drawn by John Geering instead of Dan's normal artist at the time, Ken Harrison. Digifiend: I have a feeling that the first two issues of February 1971 might have...

Re: Wikipedia - aargh!
I'm not sure whether people voted for their favourite character during the 1992/93 Guest Spots, or if the editorial team chose what they'd think would be the most successful strip out of the ones that appeared.

Re: Perry or Terry Willers who he?
Of all the Minder Bird strips I read, I thought they were all John Dallas. Not only was the style almost definitely his, but considering Bob Nixon was drawing two strips for that year's vote (Sort Out Squad and Vic Volcano) and John Dallas drew Chip the Stone age boy, I thought the editor had given ...

Re: Number 13 and The Germs return in the bigger 36 page Bea
If the Germs are Dave sutherland strips I won't have seen them before. All the strips of the Germs I have are by either Vic Neill or Keith Reynolds, with the exception of the 'taster' strip from 1987.

Some of us weren't fans of Jak in any of his three incarnations ;) Wayne's current work is much funnier. Just a note as a moderator - please don't triple post if you can help it. Go back and use the edit button if you can. Wayne's current work is Bananaman, which is on poor form at the moment, and ...

Re: First Comic You Ever Read
I'm not entirely sure what my first comic was. I'd say the Thomas the Tank engine comic, but I'm not sure if this classes as a comic or magazine. which I got from 1997/98 until about 2000 or '01 (But I don't think I got every issue from 1998-2001). Sadly barely any of these survive. I'm not sure wha...

Am I the only one who can see a cameo by 'Erbert from the bash street kids in frames 4, 5 and 7? He really looks like 'Erbert in the 7th frame.Peter Gray wrote:
