Re: What comics did you buy today?

Very fragile and brittle but I had Hotspur #1 and Skipper #1 delivered this morning. Iconic comics which have been on my wish list for some time. I feel like wearing surgical gloves when I look at them though! Boy's Favourite #1 also arrived with them. This week I've also bought Classics Illustrated...

Re: Good No.1 Comic Covers

Well that's wasn't a #1... Got carried away with the comic cover part :) I cannot recall any particular No1 comic cover that stood out apart from one or two already mentioned. Most new comics used to be well advertised and each one eagerly anticipated by me.Before my time in the 30s there was a larg...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

I recently picked up a pile of the later TV Comics very cheap and the decline in quality from the title's heyday was sad to see! I've just seen the below on Ebay and thought of you and koollectablz regarding your conversation about TV Comic. I'm not the seller by the way: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Not today but in the last month since my last post, I've picked up another massive mixed bag of comics and comic gifts which after typing out, helps to explain why my wife has insisted that I start to sell some of the duplicates! February's purchases: Entire year of Victor 1972 with 3 free gifts Ent...

Re: How are UK comics quoted values determined?

Prices on comics is subjective. A man/woman who is flush will be prepared to pay more for a collection or an individual issue, which doesn't necessarily inflate the price of the aforementioned. From personal experience, I've seen a Fury UK comic issue 1 with free gift go for £125. A few months late...

Re: How are UK comics quoted values determined?

Thank you Adam Eterno. By Phil Shrimpton, do you mean this site? http://www.phil-comics.com/ (which I didn't know of). I tend to align prices for franco-belgian comics on Bedetheque listings but it isn't as straightforward for UK or US comics. Thank you all for all the information :) Yes, sorry, I ...

Re: How are UK comics quoted values determined?

A question I have sought an answer to for many years. I buy and sell on Ebay a lot and have done for 14 years so I'm forever trying to work out if a comic is worth x amount or y for both buying and selling. I basically fund my extensive comic buying and collecting by trading on ebay......ish. I use ...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

No comics but today I made my first ever visit to the Antique Fair at Covent Garden. Only one seller had comics but they were mainly issues of Battle for 50p each but she did have some nice copies of Silver Star women's magazine which I bought. The seller seemed to specialise in printed ephemera wh...

Re: Ebay - you want how much for it???

Seems a little excessive to me: http://www.ebay.com/itm/CGC-6-5-ARCHIE-COMICS-1-1950-UK-EXCLUSIVE-GOLDEN-AGE-HIGHEST-GRADE-SCARCE-/111891742315?hash=item1a0d447e6b:g:UF8AAOSwVFlUBmUq I do like how he says that it was never on sale in America and that it's the highest grade copy. Because obviously e...

Wish I had that one!!! I have only ever looked through it.[/quote]

It comes up every so often on Ebay and it's sold for between £12 and £15 frequently.

Re: Ebay - you want how much for it???

I hope the seller isn't expecting an offer over a tenner looking at the condition!
