Re: Full 2018 schedule for Treasury of British Comics
Also I am thinking that I will buy some of the Treasury items for my kids' school library, to give other kids a chance to enjoy them too. I would suggest, Jenni, that you raise your generous offer with both the head and the librarian before shelling out any of your hard-earned, as it is perfectly p...

Re: Full 2018 schedule for Treasury of British Comics
Charlet's War is good - I've read some of it but we stalled on buying the hardback glossy reprints. If the newer editions are nice and thick and not too dear then we might get ourselves a complete run for this household via that. Also I am thinking that I will buy some of the Treasury items for my k...

Re: Comics on TV
My partner thinks it was one figure rather than various, and apparently because the Victorian needlewomen were working from a facsimile provided by the South Kensington Museum, which had already been bowdlerised. So, yes and no, but you’re right: not an absolutely exact facsimile it’s true!

Re: Comics on TV
Seeing the real tapestry would be awesome of course, but there is an excellent copy that can be seen in the Reading Museum - same size, everything reproduced amazingly precisely by a team of Victorian needlewomen. Well worth seeing in its own right.

Re: Query about a story with 13 girls
I'm going for Hernandez myself. Thanks so much for the scan, it was great to see it again! It's rather a good ending, with the alien still having human feelings but being bound for the stars and a greater destiny.

I read that story when it came out - it is quite memorable. Nicely drawn too. Can you identify the artist, helsbels?

Re: What small press comic did you buy today?
Bought a few comics from Bevis Musson via Twitter - The Disreputable Dead Queen Detectives & spinoffs including a colouring book. Has gone down very well with my two Horrible Histories-loving kids as it is in very much the same sort of vein. I've enjoyed them too

Very sorry to see this news. Baikie was an ace girls comics artist and one of the key figures in Jinty.

Re: What comics or comic related Christmas presents did you
I bought my partner a copy of Darryl Cunningham's Graphic Science and have read three of the seven tales about scientists myself as he's finished it now. Recommended. I also got an interesting looking graphic novel called something like 'We did our best' about a Vietnamese refugee / immigrant family...

Re: What Christmas Comics Have You Bought Recently?
But Lew, why don't DCT publish a contents page with creator names? That's what I mean really. Or print the names on the strips themselves in a credit box. Not everyone will even notice signatures (unless on the umpteenth read through).

Re: What Christmas Comics Have You Bought Recently?
Bought the Dandy Annual for my eldest. She's read a bunch of them at school so she should like it. No creator credits though! Shocking in this day and age (tho of course it is DC Thomson's, so that's as expected from them).

Re: Maria Dembilio
scanned stories by Maria Dembilio 'Scanned Stories' implies more than one episode of more than one story. I would be able to translate them into Spanish but not until I get back from Cornwall in early January. I leave here in ten minutes. I wouldn't worry about it until / unless del Amor comes back...

Well I can certainly apologise for posting in a hurry and putting in insufficient words to make myself clear - and then not looking back for a while, which obviously made things worse! Apology accepted with good grace. I would also hope that you would take our previous positive interactions into ac...

But no, my 'oh blimey to this entire thread' wasn't at all intended to mean that I was dismissing it and your strug...

Re: Not just any old Amazon delivery rep.
Oh blimey to this entire thread! 24 hours later but no apology so far from comixminx, I notice. :o :? Apology from me, Phoenix? What for?! I was sympathizing with all those hard-done by on the delivery front! Obviously not very clearly but still. Perhaps I should have added some appropriate...
