What would be the ideal book on comics?
There are a few books out there for comic collectors and fans such as title indexes and general introductions to "British Comics", histories of British comics, artist biographies, and lots of well-illustrated introductions to the genre. But is there a book missing? What would be the most interesting...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Candy is a wonderful thing! A failed Gerry Anderson project and now a comics curiosity of the first order, mainly because it's one of the creepiest things ever; you wonder how they didn't notice how disturbing those puppets are! Besides the comics and annuals there were also Candy story books in the...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Congrats on Candy #1 Adam - I don't think I've ever seen that on eBay. Felt sorry for the seller, who had 98.4% feedback because one happy customer accidentally gave them a negative.

Re: It's Bond, Jane Bond...
Thanks - I will look out for foreign editions. Does anyone know which issue of Princess/ Tina was the first/ last to feature Jane Bond? I'm guessing she appeared in no. 1?

I did see the TV Comic but it was in rather bad shape if I remember. I can't see TV Tornado 59 on eBay, but if you can direct me to the link that would be much appreciated!

Re: Thoughts on collecting comics
There has been some talk recently of US collectors getting interested in UK reprints of Marvel/DC material - once they've collected all the American issues, that's the next place to go. Some characters like Captain Britain were only published in Marvel UK issues. If this trend really does happen, th...

Re: Thoughts on collecting comics
Exactly Abacus, the issue is which comics are for sale - if they're "hot", i.e. tied to a famous character (like Judge Dredd) or TV/Film (e.g. Thunderbirds, Dr Who) then they could fetch a lot of money, or if they're rare or first issues; but the vast, vast majority of old comics will never be worth...

It's Bond, Jane Bond...
With all the media kerfuffle at the moment over Gillian Anderson and others as possible "Jane Bonds" there's no mention of the fact that Jane Bond appeared for some time in Tina and Princess Tina. Was that the first appearance of this character, or was there a "Jane Bond" around before Tina started ...

Re: Most generous ever free gift in a comic?
Yes, could we see the Yogi bear theatre please! I think the Wham! Haggis Thrower has to be the funniest gift of all time, but no idea what the most generous would be... certainly think I was lucky growing up in the 70s, when getting a free gift with a comic was something really exciting because it o...

Re: Ebay sales: Good price for the seller, buyer or both??
2000AD prog. 2 with the stickers seems to come up less often now than a few years ago - I remember it was about £100 with the stickers in 2010 and they seemed to appear frequently enough on eBay for me not to hurry to get one - well, that was a mistake!

Re: What comics did you buy today?
I bought the digest-sized "Space Adventures" no. 2 and 3, featuring 'The Perils of Blue Beetle' and 'Moon-Run', which seem to have been published by L. Miller in 1959. There doesn't seem to be much information about them on the web though- was this the first time Blue Beetle was reprinted in the UK?...
