Re: Digital Dandy
I really think it would help the take-up of the Digital Dandy if it just worked better! OK, the longer strips load a lot quicker now but still take quite some time. Also, I did email the editor to let him know that the Blinky strip in issue 5 wasn't working (just has the first frame and the arrow to...

Re: Who is missing the print Dandy...?
I know what you mean about feeling like you don't 'own' the copies. But how is this any different from when you purchase music (via iTunes for example?). At the moment, there is a big difference - you need to be connected to the internet to view your comics. If, for example, you have an iPad, once y...

Re: Digital Dandy
Hi Digi - Yes! Success!! About the same for me for all issues... 10-15 seconds for all the 'bigger' strips. Now just wondering where issue 3 is?!?!.. Still think they need to advertise it more - 1/2 page in Beano detailing next issue and what's actually IN the issues etc. Get the iPad / iPhone app u...

Re: When was your favourite Dandy?
I'm 42 but totally agree with Harry. The last couple of years had some genuinely funny strips; both from the writing and the visual humour. Which made for a perfect comic in my humble opinion. I was that Dad that my kids had to wrestle to get to read The Dandy first when it popped through the letter...

Re: Digital Dandy
Dandy Ed - you've GOT to sort out the speed that the strips load if you seriously want kids to like this. Each strip (apart from the ministries) takes around 90seconds to load, including the 2nd part of strips after the mini games. With my kids, we tried desktop, laptop and kindle and had the same p...

Oh man! The 2-page Bananaman and the "Bea's Farts 'n' Ladders" game are also reprinted from last week
I guess the Beano Hogmanay bash was a good night!

Re: Digital Dandy
I have a sneaky suspicion (and a massive 'hope') that the two Nigel's (Parkinson and Auchterlounie) are going to be quite involved in the new venture. On Nigel Parkinson's blog he mentions about a recent visit from a TV crew who also visited Nigel Auchterlounie. My guess is it's regarding the launch...

Digital Dandy
As we approach the final print issue of The Dandy, I thought it a good idea to start a new thread so we can start to look forward to what's in store for us in the 'Digital Dandy'!! We already know from the promotional material for the Dandy exhibition at the Cartoon Museum that the Digital Dandy wil...

Re: This weeks Dandy
Well, Gilly... Hopefully this will cheer you up a little? The Cartoon Museum in London are currently running an exhibition until 24th December about 75 years of the Dandy and in the promotional material on their website it states: "The exhibition will include some exclusive material from the new Dan...

Re: Nice e-mail from Ellis Watson
I also totally disagree with the statement that The Dandy had gone 'creatively awry' of late, and that is backed up by the views of my two sons aged 14 and 12. I also agree that 'marketing and distribution' were greater contributions to the lack of sales than 'not creative' content. I don't, for one...

Re: Tommorrows launch of new magazine
I feel for Richard, I really do. So, I work in the City of London and I live in mid-Essex. Happened to be out shopping in Basildon yesterday so popped into Smiths to try to buy issue 1 but it was nowhere to be seen. After checking the website I noticed that this wasn't one of the WHSmith's down as s...
