Re: What comics to keep???

I like putting my mind to things ,for instance I created the paper ashtray though it didn't catch on probably because fewer people smoke. Not yet been able to solve the problem of comic storage. My wife spoke of a green plastic box at the side of the house.I checked it out and yes it as plenty of room...

Re: Origins?

Long running comic characters get polished and changed over the years to suit different tastes.Mary Tourtel's Rupert the Bear originally contained villains that gave lots of children nightmares and was the cause of numerous complaints. To me as a child I prefered her version which was more of a rolle...

Re: collecting

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Just back off holiday in Wales. What did you buy? I hear that last remaining reader ask. Well bought a 2010 Bash Street Kids annual which I normally woudn't bother with but the Charity Shop only wanted 20p for it, therefore I had to pick it up, also spent £2 on 8 comics from a secondhand bookshop. Nu...

Re: What comics to keep???

It's an interesting thought. It hadn't crossed my mind that people would consider digital comics as appreciating in value. I can't see it happening myself but time will tell. As a comic enthusiast you're up to date with best selling comics but myself as a general reader I hear little publicity abou...

Re: What comics to keep???

Most of the comics we bought growing up had a huge following and to collectors were well known I can envisage in the future a lot of today's comicbooks great though they may be unless they are tied in with some movie or tv show being known only to a few people and therefore as a collector may have t...

Re: Origins?

In the 50s I used to read CLASSICS ILLUSTRATED comics I'm sure it said on the inside they were published in England although I don't know if they were of American origin.Since I've been posting here I've seen no mention of them.
